Dude I fucking love your post about objectum Tom cause I was literally just thinking about how people should get more weird with the boys and their romantic prefs/sexualities. I always think Tom and Tord especially should always have a hint of aromanticism, but that's just me <- projection.
Ahhh thank you!!!!! 😆 I am a STAUNCH Objectum Tom believer as it’s basically straight-up canon to the series, and yet I’m still so genuinely shocked to see that it not at all that popular of a headcanon unfortunately for some reason?!?!? Like yeah sure some people will be like ‘ha ha Tom fucked a tree’ but other than that, people don’t really discuss at all in detail about the logic behind why Tom has a attraction to objects in the first place 😕
I do think due to his strange upbringing + human/object hybrid body, he’s basically predetermined to become objectum, as he was raised in a environment in which he viewed that as totally 100% normal, not realizing how it’s viewed purely as a particular not-that-fully-socially-accepted-paraphilia in the eyes of others. By his teenage years, he had dated a coconut during prom (as shown in one of his flashbacks in 25ft Under the Seat) and he then fully accepted his attraction to Susan later on during his early adulthood years 🙂↕️
If you’re just curious about just my thoughts on the guys’ sexualities and their preferences, here they are! They’re mostly pretty tame in comparison to other people’s headcanons lol:
Edd - Was straight but began to question his sexuality by his teenage years due to gaining a pretty heavy crush on Tord, but currently he now passively identities as bisexual with a slight preference for men, and he doesn’t have any paraphilias (well, to his knowledge yet…… hey, I need to push my Eddcest agenda™)
Tom - Always had a attraction to objects but tends to gravitate towards flora (plants and trees mainly) but he has shown interest in tech as well (shown with computer he got in the first Christmas special and also in regard to Susan, who is a bass), alongside always knowing that he had a interest in men as well, thus he is comfortable with also identifying as bisexual
Matt - Was deeply within the closest due to stress/internalized shame from potentially not being accepted by his incredibly strict parents, mainly during his early teen years, but now proudly identifies as gay when asked about it, alongside being a such a massively unabashed autophiliac (no wonder he was so eager to film that particular tape with his surviving clone)
Tord - In a similar camp to Edd, in regard to questioning his sexuality as a teen, but he still identifies as questioning, even after moving out and becoming Red Leader later on, leaving him incredibly frustrated and prone to gravitating towards various paraphilias in a attempt to ‘feel’ something (since he already is shown to have a fetish towards lesbians AND voyeurism in The Dudette Next Door, alongside whatever the hell he enjoys in his various hentai mags…… tentacles and oviposition maybe…..)
