I'm at my second job. It's a slow day, so I'm reading fanfiction, WHILE helping people in ways beyond my job, mind you (in case my boss finds this and somehow knows it's me), while my coworker is loudly watching a streaming channel.

Right.

I'm reading "The Forgetting" by HJolly, not something to be read in public if you're an easy crier like me. And I start tearing up a bit. Cause. Yk? But otherwise I'm quiet and demure.

Anyway, so I'm minding my business, not commenting on their fucking video playing at 100% while at work in front of guests, right? So I'm doing their job for them despite not being guest-facing here.

So my coworker sends a guest over to me (cause they're not doing shit), and this guest sees me mid-chapter, I look up, face fully looking like I'm season 1 Joyce Byers with the lights but also mid-sob, and they turn around, no comment.

Five minutes later my boss asks if I need help...

Long story short, thank you, fanfiction, for showing that my boss is concerned not with my mental health but with my sanity...

So, Vecna is trying to keep them "asleep," essentially, but EVERY time Mike and Will find each other (and get together), his plan fails. So Henry creates new realities, and we go from ALL our Byler AUs.

BECAUSE this community helped (unintentionally but it REALLY REALLY did)

As of today, I'm 100 days sober. I beat my previous 60-day streak and am almost doubling it.

There were fics I wanted to appreciate sober (and better when I read them as such), art that distracted from cravings, and online friends that made me want to be the best version of myself.
