Honestly, the fact Nicola had/has 7 different projects this year: Five have been out already (Bton4, TPOTWW, BM2, TFMT, Goal) and Two more to come (IAH and OMITB) is HUGE and a dream come true for every working actor. She’s been working so much and she deserves every bit of success. And I know we won’t finish this year without another casting new under her bell.
It's pretty incredible!
Not just the number of projects, but how different they all are. She's building such a varied career.
And yes, there's more to come.
Maybe it's because I'm still sitting here impatiently waiting for any news about Grace O'Malley. At this point I just need to know who's involved so I can stop theorizing and put myself out of my misery!
So far this has already been an incredible year for Nicola and I couldn't be happier for her.
Seeing Nicola's OMITB casting being picked up everywhere is so exciting!

'Only Murders In The Building': David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan, Jodie Whittaker and Jim Broadbent are among Season 6 recurring cast addition
So, it looks like David has been cast in season 6 of Only Murders in the Building! It's been incredible to see the reaction to this news, and the excitement for David being tapped to appear in such a popular show.
In particular, I've noticed folks clamoring for Michael to be cast alongside him ("Please cast Michael and David next!" "We need Michael and David!" "Cast Michael as David's love interest!" "They are a set, do not separate!"). As much as I absolutely do want Michael and David to work together again on something--because Heaven knows that chemistry should not go to waste--I'm also feeling a bit of hesitation.
It's very clear that Michael and David will be intertwined for the rest of their careers and lives, and I have no problem with that. I think it's something they seem to have accepted and embraced, and their love and adoration for each other knows no bounds. But in the wake of GO 3 and the fandom's reaction, it feels as if having Michael alongside David in OMITB would be viewed as a sort of consolation prize for what we didn't get in the finale, and would be more about Aziraphale and Crowley than whatever roles they would be playing in the show.
If Michael and David work together again--and I truly hope they do--I don't think it should be reactionary, or because they are trying to make something up to the fans. I want Michael and David to work together for themselves. I want them to find a show or script that delights, surprises, and excites them, that uses their chemistry in the best way possible. Because it's what is between them that is so special, and while it started with Aziraphale and Crowley, their future collaborations should stand apart from that, rather than endlessly be compared to it.
Again, though, so happy for David with this news (though admittedly I've never actually seen a single episode of OMITB), and hoping we'll get to see him and Michael together again one day soon...
