new music sounds

FINALLY they’re back! alt-j have released the first song of their upcoming album ‘relaxed’ and it features some beautiful vocals from wolf alice singer ellie rowsell. despite their somewhat new direction, they tease us with some old school alt-j vocals here and there. what are we all thinking about alt-j’s new single?

these guys remind me slightly of eliza and the bear, so if you’re a fan of them then definitely check this band out. 

james hersey - everyone’s talking

only recently have I discovered this london based duo after they were released as an act playing at The Great Escape in Brighton in May. I can draw similarities between the vocals of these girls and london grammar’s lead hannah reid. this song has a subtle but big impact. 

wahey, obviously i’m going to love this track because of the electronic funky vibes it sends out. it’s just about all the simple things that you become accustomed to loving in a relationship. roll on match for the new album ‘Worhead’

very much looking forward to the 21st, anyone in brighton i’d recommend you get your ass down to the latest music bar on 21st feb to see these beauts.

the new album ‘process’ is out and it’s a good’un. it’s a lot different to most of his collaborative works, like those with the likes of SBTRKT and drake, and has a much more stripped back, emotional feel to it. if you want to cry, have a listen to ‘(no one knows me) like the piano’.

he’s george ogilvie and he’s got a shed load of talent. if you like this, I would strongly recommend you give ‘October’ a listen to.

this band from brighton sure know how to work a dramatic build up.

another favourite from communion records, this indie pop trio will be sure to have their time in the limelight soon. 

these lads from liverpool are really doing it for me, despite how utterly heartbreaking this song it.
