i don't even know how to articulate all my feelings so sorry if this is messy and doesn't make total sense but the wildest thing to me about the alexandra discourse is how people are saying she should stay shut up in her house if she didn't want to be photographed. like what???? that's just a woman existing and minding her own business and just bc she happens to be married to a famous athlete she no longer deserves a baseline level of respect or empathy??? i hate this idea that a violation of privacy (the photographs yes but also the weeks and weeks of speculation and invasive comments about various parts of her body in the comments of her own posts) is simply a price she has to pay for being famous and therefore she should just shut up and bear it. none of this is acceptable or normal behavior and so much of it is misogyny and racism and straight up jealousy disguised as "hating wag culture."
also this isn't the point at all (and i would feel just as angry about the constant invasion of privacy even if the speculation was about something else) but we all know that wanting or having children in your 20s isn't trad wife propaganda right??? just because you wouldn't want that for yourself doesn't mean you get to claim it's a feminist stance. feminism IS having the choice to decide for yourself without judgement if and when you want to have children.
i don't usually get involved in stuff like this but i'm actually quite pissed off. people need to leave charles and alexandra the fuck alone. and really all women. womb watching and commenting on people's bodies is really gross and inappropriate for so many reasons and a part of modern internet culture that needs to die asap.
