sylvan [he/it/they] -- immortal shapeshifter and second born living star. currently pretending to be an elf mage. has immense disdain for mortal life, considering the inanimate star to be the superior state of being. the majority of his power has been sealed away by his older brother, who considers him a danger to all mortal life. has spent the last 200 years trying to find a way to break the seal.

calem [he/him] -- human runesmith. trans man in his mid-30s. after moving to the big city to pursue magic, he was inexplicably denied magic certification and fell on hard times. he ended up using his skills for thievery and grey market enchanting to make ends meet. took up adventuring because it's more "honest". feels very strongly about seeing queer youth thrive.

veera [she/her] -- old-blood satyr warrior. abandoned as a fawn and raised as an orphan in a human village. she aged out of the home with her best friend and took on odd jobs and adventuring to get by. she doesn't understand why she looks different from other satyrs, but also doesn't care enough to find out. madly in love with grace, but thinks she doesn't feel the same.

grace [she/her but in a genderfucky way] -- feytouched human healer. found in the woods as a child and raised as an orphan. she wants to find out who her parents were so she can reconnect with her tribe and fully realize her magic. was rendered mute by a severe injury many years ago, and now only communicates in sign language or through veera's interpretation. took on healing jobs and adventuring to lighten veera's load.

ennos [he/him] -- Khamori omega. after losing favor in his clan, he set out into human lands hoping to become an adventurer and make a name for himself. he thinks if he makes it big and gets popular, it'll make up for him being an omega and having a magical core that's too impure to ever achieve ascension. his skills are better suited to defense, so he prefers to be a meat shield. token cishet.

They all go on a little adventure together to a funky little place called the King's Labyrinth, hoping to claim a really large bounty for a life-changing amount of money. All they have to do is delve into this uncharted, magically distorted underground fortress full of weird monsters, and find a royal heirloom that's been lost for generations! Easy :D

Though, really, it's about Sylvan being gay and trans as fuck learning to accept being alive. It's about about trans rage. It's about being abandoned by the people who were supposed to love you when you didn't fit their expectations for you. It's about finding acceptance from people who genuinely want you as you are. It's about learning how to live in a world that doesn't want you in it.
