Veera didn't deserve what he went through. His love and admiration for Dhevi was mocked and ridiculed, his loyalty to Krailert was questioned and even in death, he was stripped of his dignity. However, through all of that he remained loyal to Krailert and had only wished to protect him and Dhevi.
You did well, Veera. I hope you're free and happy wherever you are.
I love morally confusing characters. Some of these men had a part in what happened to Veera. At the very least, they did little to stop it. But in the end, it is clear that they loved and respected him.
This is what living in fear under violent authoritarian rule does to people. Your fear for your own safety and for the safety of your loved ones makes you compromise your morals.
We saw it happen again and again in Shine.
Trin Protecting Victor
"Thank you, Phi" "I'd help you anyway"
Veera: Sir the guy pestering you with questions is Naran from Siam Journal do you want me to take care of him?
Krailert: No problem I know what to do
Krailert: flirts with Naran
Fucks him
Takes him to see a movie
Lies in his arms
Veera: Sir that is not what I meant
Veera: Anyway Sir would you like me to take care of your wife?

All Kraliert needs to do is tell Dhevi he likes Naran. Dhevi just needs to tell him she likes Veera. Dhevi obviously doesn't care her nephew is having tender gay loving sex in his room with his faen. She's probably wanting the same for herself with Veera. So she may not care Krailert is gay. After they talk they reach an agreement where they mutually separate but publicly stay married for pretence and social appearances and all that. Then Krailert gets to be with Naran and Dhevi gets to be with Veera. Problem solved and daddy the general will never find out.
Shine FinalEP, it brought tears to my eyes!!💔
First off Victor, everyone still in grief of course, glad we got to see how the other people close to him were feeling too. His fight, passion and determination will forever last through them, he made an impact. I wish it wasn’t him, but it just had to be😭
Krailert and Naran, i should’ve known that in the end they’d be a bittersweet memory. Krailert telling Trin to live the life he wants on his behalf. His wife, Dhevi, is no joke, getting evidence from Moira, her already knowing abt Naran, the threats…my gosh. Playing of the piano, the last picture of their space, the library, and the final letter in paper. Heart wrenching. In another lifetime maybe they can be together.
Seeing Tanwa that depressed, like i knew eventually he was gonna crack knowing what all he was going through but His and Trins breakup was the final straw. Oh he was heartbroken. The whole situation was just complicated, like i got both perspectives on why Trin was so upset (tbh i did get upset with trin tho because he punched him, like ik emotions can make you do crazy things but knowing that Tanwa get hits by his father who’s also supposed to be a loved one. that just caused some extra pain and Trin just took it. again very complex emotions and situations throughout the series) Sucha trying everything he could to help Tanwa, though the methods weren’t the best, he cares for him.(loved him in ep7 tho saying they were blinded by love, he was so supportive)
Especially seeing Tanwa and his dad relationship being so different. It sucks but turmoil is sometimes needed to get to a higher standard, emotional capacity/intelligence and mindset.
Thank you Moira for sending the book to Trin. Did it take 2/3 years of them being apart? yes. Honestly they both had so much to grow through their own while together, being apart was the answer. Right person but wrong time, basically? Them reuniting, and growing old together!! oh how innocent wished that scene was a bit longer, but it so precious anyways.
“Im trin.” “…Im Tanwa.” 🥹
Trin really left an impact on his students, that letter from Wut was very touching.
Veera, man he went out so wrong, his colleagues giving him that small “memorial” tho, burning the photos + drawings, another big ouch.
this post is getting pretty lengthy, idek if what im saying makes any sense sorry🫡It really moved me. only 8 episodes long, yet so much happened. honestly wish it got 10eps but im not complaining it was a beautiful show, the actors did an amazing job telling this story, shout out to the writers, editors and director.
