Makochi has a problem. Specifically, it has a runaway problem- in the form of a scrappy child who refuses to let anyone get close to him. No one knows where Sakura came from, or how he got here- he's wary of people and never sticks around for long. Bofurin has its hands full just trying to wrangle the eleven year old. But with time and effort, maybe they can slowly coax their latest stray into trusting them... (or: 11 year old runaway Sakura Haruka finds his way to Makochi, and slowly learns to trust people again.)

Suo, has never been told to 'just have fun' in his short yet concerningly stressful life, thinking: I speak 5+ languages and I still couldn't understand a single word out of that man's mouth.

sweet little darling, i know it won't help with the pain right now but you weren't wrong to think you guys were connected heart to heart. suo himself felt it so strongly he had to pull the sharpest, most abrupt bandaid-ripoff the world has ever seen.

of course, it's nirei that does it first since he's one of the few characters that can actually read that elusive son of a gun, but i can see sakura jumping on the bandwagon if suo visibly becomes happier later on + gives him the opportunity to see a slightly embarrassed suo when he catches on to what they're doing.
