georgepimentel1: I just had to do it! In the back of my mind, I kept thinking about the last time I photographed Hudson Williams. At the Canadian Screen Awards, last night, the atmosphere was electric— everyone was buzzing, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Heated Rivalry star who once served tables at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
This time, I found myself backstage in the Gold Portrait Studio, waiting as the winners made their way through. After Heated Rivalry swept the night with 16 awards, we wrapped up with the cast and crew photo. I then asked Hudson if he'd mind doing a solo portrait.
He smiled and said, "Sure."
I reminded him that I was the photographer who had taken the photo of him and Prime Minister Mark Carney doing "the leg thing." His eyes immediately lit up.
With a grin, he said, "that was you."
Then he added, "Well, we should do it again."
And just like that, there it was—a full-circle moment I never expected. One of those rare moments that reminds me why I love what I do.
never thought I would have so much in common with Mike Myers
THAT'S MIKE MYERS?!?!?!?!?!
Hudson Williams | Best Lead Performer in a Drama Series
I didn't write a speech but I do have a little thank you list. Immediately to all the other nominees, it's just an honor to be nominated alongside you. I'm honored to be Canadian and this is fantastic.

Please y'all. Ilya has not read Dostoevsky. We must be serious.
I will NEVER and I do mean NEVER be over the way ilya points to himself, then shane, then holds his hand over his heart as he repeats “I love you” in Russian, slowly, for shane. not just saying it in his first language because shane asked, but teaching shane, too. making sure shane understands what he’s saying. making sure shane knows what the words mean and how much he means them. “ya” ilya points to ilya. “tebya” ilya points to shane. “lyublyu” ilya essentially gestures to his heart. AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Meanwhile in Europe.

I wrote something again!
This is a Hollanov fantasy!AU because I got really into it after writing one for BuckTommy last year. I am excited about the fic in the sense that I love sharing and hope people like it, but very late into the process I realised I wasn't fully happy with the world-building, nor that so much action happens off-screen. We get the boys and romance on-screen, but all the other stuff... So rn I'm considering a re-write and expanding the story, but we'll see if it happens!
I love them being assholes in love, and I hope I got some of that right, and I absolutely love Shane being competent and being the one bossing Ilya around (outside of bed). I also absolutely love Yuna and David adopting Ilya into the family, so that had to happen here! I actually ended up cutting out stuff that was too sweet between them all, because it was OOC and also this is inspired by grim fantasy with betrayal, death and swordfighting (all off-screen).
The story was at first them being rival swordfighters in tourneys across the continent, which became them being on the run through a forest, IDEK. It just happened that way! I couldn't give an existing real name to the villains, so I created Grivoria out of Ilya's patronymic, because there was this whole paragraph explaining how his family was soooo important in his country, but that got edited out. So even if all placenames are fictional, they're all a reference to something in HR or real life hockey-stuff.
There's like a hundred other things, like them post-fic building their own cottage, living on the farm with all the dogs Ilya could ever want, Yuna and David shocking Shane with the information that Marcus and Esca, the two horsebreeders on the neighbouring farm being partners in more than just business and blablabla. :D
I have an idea regarding what to write next, but we shall see!
On his first birthday with a boyfriend, Shane wakes up to repeated clanking sounds coming from the kitchen. They're only at the cottage for a few days, because Ilya's moving from Boston to Ottawa in a week.
Everytime Shane thinks about it there's an almost histerical, giddy feeling spreading through him. They've completed a whole year of long distance and stolen moments and- yes, they will still be two hours apart but it feels so different. It feels like they made it into over time in a tight game. The win just moments away.
Shane stretches with a smile and debates if he should go out there or wait for Ilya to come back. The former wins (also because Shane wants birthday kisses and insists on brushing his teeth first so, he has to get up anyway) and he finds Ilya, busy with the dishes.
"Good morning."
At his sleep rough voice Ilya looks up and beams at him. "Good morning, Imjeninnik!"
Ilya walks over to him slowly and Shane licks his lips as he takes him in. His curls are a chaotic mess, flat on one side and trying to flee his head on the other. He is in Shane's black t-shirt from yesterday and smiles at him in a way that makes his stomach flip. He looks so good. So relaxed and at home here. Shane barely waits for him to be near enough to grab at his hips to pull him closer.
Ilya puts a hand on his face, guiding him into the perfect angle for a kiss. Two kisses. Three. Things escalate quickly from there. The kisses turn frantic, move from his lips to his neck and then further down.
After, when Shane is still panting, back leaning against the kitchen island, Ilya asks "Good birthday morning so far?"
It takes a moment for Shane to answer because Ilya crowds into him with a smug grin and he simply has to kiss him again.
"Yes. Woke up alone, though." He says eventually with a smile.
"Mh, sorry, had to prepare your cake. I was about to make coffee so if you want to go back to-"
"My cake?" Shane interrupts him. "You're baking? Really?" Shane's smile is so wide it almost sprains his cheeks.
Ilya shrugs, looking to the side with a shake of his head. "Yes? You invited David and Yuna over for the afternoon, you want them to starve?"
He's clearly a little self concious, so Shane moves in again to kiss him.
"No? Usually they bring cake from the bakery down the road."
"Oh." Ilya sniffs and shrugs again. "We can also do that, if you want." Completely failing at acting nonchalant.
And Shane pulls him in for a hug because he just has to squeeze him. Has to. The cuteness aggression also makes him press his teeth together before saying "I don't want. I want the one you're making."
"Is with dates instead of sugar." Ilya's voice is muffled into his shoulder, where he places a few pecks. And Shane just about melts. Ilya hates dates instead of sugar in stuff.
"That sounds perfect, thank you."
Due to a real-life argument I just had a with a friend who thinks AI is great for "creating". Just fuck off.

i want so badly for shane hollander post-TLG to have his andy murray williams sisters moment (see below)
like he gets asked a stupid question about it being unprecedented for two professional hockey players to be in a romantic relationship and he just deadpans “i think the PWHL has like five couples currently” i think that would be a nice moment for women’s sport and for shane hollander personally
