Meet Me in the Woods
So I noticed something about the cards. You know, those used to play Old Maid with. Instead of featuring the profile of a person, they show animals on their court cards (court cards meaning king, queen, jack. I'm using that term to encompass all of them). And these animals also match the four male leads. How? I'll explain.
I'm not an expert in cartomancy, but I do know the basics. I'll compare the meaning of the cards to their tarot equivalent. Also, I'll follow the order of Hearts - Diamonds - Clubs - Spades (red, pale, caliginous and black if you want). Since they're male leads after all, I'll also give a description of each suit's respective King.
Hearts
The Heart court cards feature a snowy owl on them. Both the King and the Jack feature a male snowy owl, and the Queen features a female on it. This card suit is linked to Vyn.
This is interesting because, just like their tarot equivalent, the suit of Cups, Hearts represent emotion, the heart, but also those that an emotional bond is formed with, such as friends and family. Via the suit of Cups, Hearts are connected to the element of Water, and as thus carries the properties that this element stands for - intuition, the subconscious and imagination. (Also, Vyn slightly resembles a snowy owl himself, due to the color of his hair, his golden eyes and his preference for light-colored clothing).
The King of Hearts/Cups is emotionally balanced, and knows how to use his emotions at the right time and right place. He has mastered the realm of the subconscious, and is compassionate and caring. The King of Cups also walks the line between executive and intuitive perfectly - he can assess and manage a situation correctly, but also draws upon his own knowledge of emotions and own gut feeling. This card can also stand for a figure with fatherly qualities. When reversed, this card reveals its darker side, as being able to use his emotions to manipulate others, since he knows how.
Diamonds
The Diamond court cards feature a mythical creature on them that mostly resembles a sea serpent with a single horn on its forehead. As with the others, the King and Jack have a male sea serpent on it, and the Queen presumably a female sea serpent. This card suit should be obvious as to who it is linked to: Marius.
It's not like they're subtle about it. Infinity (remember that that chip is the Infinity chip) is represented as an ouroboros here, or rather, (a) horned (sea) serpent(s) forming an ouroboros.
That aside, this suit is equal to the suit of Pentacles in tarot. Both represent the same: monetary riches, the material realm, the outer situation (aka everything that you seem to be from the outside such as how healthy you are, etc.). It covers things such as trade, manifestation, and prosperity. Catch my drift? Both of them are also connected to the element of Earth, which is where all bounty comes from (under the earth like shiny materials, but also plants).
The King of Diamonds/Pentacles is a wealthy man. He is knowledgable of the ways of the trade and is no stranger to the world of the elite. He can attract wealth with ease and handle it wisely. He has a rich life, both in literal sense and in spirit. The reversed version of this card, predictably, shows the other side, where he is unable to and may be very stubborn and contrarian; making him 'stuck in a rut', so to say.
Clubs
The Clubs court cards feature lions on them, with the King and Jack having a lion and the Queen a lioness - pretty much the only case where I can say that with certainty and that makes me assume that the rest also has this spread. Somewhat less obvious, this card suit is linked to Artem.
Using tarot, the suit of Clubs is linked to the suit of Wands. Both represent energy, passion, and ambition. They also stand for personality and the self, but also (more specifically the Clubs) work, business and debate. When compared to the Diamonds, this suit represents the work that goes into it before one becomes rich (Diamonds). It is no wonder that they're both linked to the element of Fire.
The King of Clubs/Wands is a natural born leader. He is mature enough to hold a long-term vision and take it into regard. He has archieved a lot and is not planning to stop any time soon. Although he is wise, he can be stubborn sometimes, and set in his ways. He may not always be nice about it, but he has his reasons for doing things how he does it. This is a card about what must be done. The reversed card drives this to its logical extreme: being more aggressive in pursuit of goals, and showing a disregard for others. Otherwise, it can be setting high and unrealistic goals.
Spades
The Spades court cards feature a German Shepherd dog on it, in presumably the same spread (King and Jack feature a male, Queen features a female). This suit is connected to Luke.
This is where the meanings of the traditional card suit and the tarot cards differ. You see, it is connected to the suit of Swords, which are in turn linked to the element of Air. (Air, not Wind - witchy stuff works with Air instead of Wind). Spades stand for hardship, trouble and obstacles, but the Swords are representative of thoughts, action, the mind and intellect - however, they are still eachothers equivalent. Quite a difference if you ask me. This is also why I will be describing the King of Swords, and not the King of Spades, since the former fits better.
The King of Swords is a figure of intellect, and he has a sharp wit. He takes the lead with an objective view and can perceive the truth using these abilities. He has a reputation and a vast amount of knowledge in his respective field, and knows exactly what is needed, whatever situation may come his way. He is proud of his own expertise and rigor. The reversed form of this card focuses more on quiet power, but can also be a show-off. This may manifest in cutting off sentences of others to having only personal interests in mind. It may also be a representation of indecisiveness, feeling lost and uncertain.
Some trivia
While it is translated in-game as Old Maid, it is actually an Asian variation of this game called babanuki, which, granted, literally translates to Old Maid - but it is different in that instead of removing any card, the joker is added and if you're left with it, you lose.
I spent around 45 minutes and countless games of Old Maid screenshotting all court cards.
In old times, hearts represented the church, the diamonds the merchants, the clubs the farmers and the spades the military.
You may be like 'you cheated, you just described the character when you described the cards' but I didn't. These are the meanings of the cards.
In all of these court cards, the King and the Queen both look towards the left, but the Jack looks towards the right.
The Joker in question features a hand holding a rose on it. Hmm, I wonder who that is supposed to be? (hint: it's MC).

Luke: So what's for dinner?
Rosa, staring at the food they just burnt: Regret.
something i love about luke pearce is that... he couldve succumbed to the darkness. he went through so much: he lost his parents at an early age, he was thrust into grueling military training as a teenager, he lost all his friends and comrades on a mission, he acquired a debilitating illness that brought so much pain and hopelessness to his life. he had every right to become a hardened, cruel, and hateful person. but he didnt. he stayed kind. he he stayed brave enough to hope. he stayed softhearted.
it reminds me of that one quote from doctor who: "All that pain and misery and loneliness and it just made it kind."
