I think the book is much better than the movie (i barely remember the movie at all) but I don't wanna sit down and rewatch it to renew my opinion on it.

I do think like the necessity to have a very formulaic script and the inability to make a movie that is A Little Weirder and still have it be considered a blockbuster fucked that movie over A Lot.

I also like. My curse is that I spent too much time online reading creepypasta so any journal type narrative written by the protag going thru the horrors is kind of a stale format but I think it was done well and in an interesting way that says more about the protag and what she thinks is important and how she chooses to convey that information.
