Got diagnosed officially with OCD last week and it is reigniting my connection with Fitz and Daisy’s respective character arcs in S2 again

#Leo ‘I am different I’m trying not to be but I am’ Fitz #Daisy ‘There’s something very wrong with me’ Johnson #also Leo ‘You’re just different now and there’s nothing wrong with that’ Fitz #oh their sibling-ism is so important to me #their parallels… the found siblings of all time #I’ve got too much going on in my life to think about what becomes of them in S5 #shhhh no s5 The Doctor talk… they all lived happily ever after the end #exactly exactly #anyways their season 2 storylines have always been really important to me #because tbh I was kinda born feeling like something was off about me (turns out it was just a few minor undiagnosed things)#that comes off more quirky sounding than I’m trying to convey but I just lowkey don’t wanna sound like a bummer down here #anyways S2 provided me a lot of comfort after I got diagnosed with ADHD #and it’s providing comfort now albeit in different ways #getting real in the tags here #I mean I was real before… but like personal #ocd has kinda wrecked my life… like I had suspected it before but the push that really got me to go get evaluated was significant #I had so much anxiety I almost felt like I was dying I almost went to the ER in the middle of the night bc i wasn’t sure I could handle it #after I had calmed down I just realized my life is so small now #I have a hard time leaving my house bc when I leave I worry about what will happen if I’m gone #I am terrified of being unknowingly allergic to things and have avoided a lot of food I used to love as a result #I didn’t even realize how many of my behaviors were compulsions #it’s kind of funny and weird at the same time #Not that my comparison here is that OCD is a superpower (cuz it is not at all) but compulsions are similar to Daisy’s suppressing her quakes #like it ‘helps’ in the short term but is also breaking apart her bones which will only worsen future quakes #it’s not genuine control over the situation #idk it’s been the image I’ve been trying to use as I’ve started exposure therapy and have to avoid compulsions to deal with distress #if Daisy could make it through learning how to control literal earthquakes I can make it through this #there’s parallels with Fitz too but I’m running out of tag space down here #something something the power of media and the impact of complex and well rounded characters #agents of shield
