something i’ve been rotating vis a vis the lamb and river of it all is how genuinely and honestly gentle lamb is with him. like. comparatively, but also? generally, lamb is. incredibly gentle with river, when you actually look at their scenes together. the car scene in s1 where he talks river through finding out about sid’s death. the bit at the restaurant in s2 when river is so so proud of himself for figuring out cicadas, lamb is endeared by him. he is. and of course the bar scene at the end of s4 is just. MWAH. chef’s kiss. forever dear to me. and i think s3 offers the harshest lamb, at least in regards to river, but it’s just. well, yeah. lamb is under extreme and acute stress because catherine has been taken. and even then, he’s not necessarily cruel to river. but. when we look at seasons 1, 2, and 4, and i am being so for real right now, lamb is actually incredibly gentle and affectionate with river. fond. loving. that’s his kid, your honor, and i rest my case.
