🏴‍☠️ tbh i don't think the characters wanted to rebel against the outline exactly, i have too much of an iron grip on that, but there were moments when i wanted them to do specific things and then realised it doesn't feel earned yet, for example the scene in chapter 4 involving the tie-- this was supposed to go on longer and involve more "action" but i've pushed that back for now

🍆 ok so... idk if i've said this before but to me scenes generally don't really read as hot 99% of the time the way they do to most, so i'm more focused on how interesting the intimacy plays out and how it reflects the characters psychology. in Only Hurt You If You Let Me there's plenty of that thankfully. My favorite scenes are actually still upcoming 🤭 (involving let's call it dress up and a bathtub) but i won't lie the scene in the park at night is obviously a hit with me and the audience. also i'm partial to the initial wtf nature of the first phonecall.

Okay i've done one 🏅 already but i have more examples. So another scene i loved writing was the duchess scene in which spider yells at her + when she like "comforts" him later because duchess is a baby angel and the one consistent good in this story lol.

🔍okay some valuable bts stuff for Only Hurt You is that you could listen to the boygenius trilogy of Please Stay, Favour, and Graceland Too as a sort of easter egg carrier for the entire thing, also i'm calling chapter 6 the evil cottage in my mind for... reasons. In terms of the actual text, idk, the funny thing about the very last scene currently out there is that it'll continue in chapter 5 immediately and also i've been pushing it back since chapter 2 👀

👈👉What two stories have you written that are most different? Why?

👉🏻👈🏻I think Painter, Piper, Prisoner, Pawn and Old Habits Die Hard are pretty similar in the sense that they are awfully slow burn and also very plot heavy (and loooong) though i'd like to think there's variety in themes

Ok for 🏅 i'm gonna do Only Hurt You If You Let Me because it's the most recent in my mind. It feels mean to say i was "looking forward" to writing the complete breakdown on all fronts that is the ending of chapter 3, but there's something heartbreaking and cathartic about river and spider having it out in the dark, on the ground, negotiating (or not) consent. like just from a writer's perspective it's exciting to do on a technical level 😌

For 🔮 i'd love to do all sloho fics because in essence river and spider end up the old men from vicious in my mind (mean, bitchy, but deeply in love at the same time, shout out vicious). there's gonna be a time jump for the PPPP epilogue so i won't reveal things about them or shirlouisa.
