see the thing is people think that john would be jack and paul would be ennis bc jack dies and ennis mourns him and what could've been forever, right, and obviously we can see this with john and paul. but this is ignoring the greater context of the movie. which one of them would get into a fist fight at a drive-in theater bc someone was cussing in front of their comphet approved family? which one of them would show up at their ex wife's house and threaten her? and which one of them would marry anne hathaway, grow a mustache, become a car salesman, and go down to mexico to get fucked?
