Maybe a Story

bear is very human! bear is very relatable at points, and that's very intentional! his entitlement manifests in a painfully realistic way, and i don't just mean in cis men, though ofc cis male entitlement is the focal point of this particular movie. anyone is susceptible to rationalizing horrible things they've done to others to avoid the guilt and consequences of it. anyone can cause harm, even unintentionally. anyone can take things past the point of no return, anyone can avoid responsibility, anyone can take advantage of another person if given the opportunity to.

Bertbert feels like a Dom. She's assertive, speaks her mind, has strong standards. That is not the same thing has being a Dom.

Jane (the evolution scienctist that was Ava's coworker). Also feels like a Dom, but really is just a controlling self-centered bitch. Also not the same thing as a Dom.

We don't know enough about the relationships with Bagora (bird person) and the orb (not even trying to spell that name) to evaluate them in this dynamic.

Verge has Dom vibes. They are also not actually a Dom, but could at least do it on a switch basis for someone they really liked. Watch their interactions with Deidra, not a Dom.

Lovtrax, is a Dom, but a bad Dom and a bad fit. They did punishment and reward. No after care, not respecting limits, not learning what Leif really needs and enjoys.

"The forests spawned me." Says the salmon. "They sent me to the ocean to grow. When I am fat with the bounty of the ocean, I will bring it home."

"Why would the forests seek the bounty of the oceans?" Asks the whale. "They have bounty of their own."
