has anyone considered that it was probably her house too. where else was she supposed to put her chintz?
“On a day like this, when the fiddleheads are unfurling and the air is petal soft, I am awash in longing. I know that “thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s chloroplasts” is good advice and yet I must confess to fullblown chlorophyll envy. Sometimes I wish I could photosynthesize so that just by being, just by shimmering at the meadow’s edge or floating lazily on a pond, I could be doing the work of the world while standing silent in the sun. The shadowy hemlocks and the waving grasses are spinning out sugar molecules and passing them on to hungry mouths and mandibles all the while listening to the warblers and watching the light dance on the water.” ~ Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants
awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users

running by the river minding my own business and this person in FULL freddy krueger getup goes by on a bicycle?? long sleeve stripe shirt and a full rubber mask, like the kind that covers your whole head and neck. I don't have a problem with it but it looks warm as fuck to be wearing in the sun in 81° weather like babe are YOU going to have a problem???
not every mutual fits neatly into an archetypal medievalism but there are some mutuals that im like yeah addressing you as “my liege” would come strangely naturally
what mutual is prev
my liege lord
my loyal knight
my wise wizard
my evil advisor
my brother in arms
my lady muse
my wild mermaid friend
my fellow alchemist
my dashing rapscallion
my monstrous foe
there are too many things happening this summer that i'm thinking we are going to need an extra 6-12 months of june and possibly another 3-4 months of july. probably no extra august as the problem should hopefully sort itself out by then. we are also looking into extending the day night cycle to 55 hours and extending the human lifespan to 10000 years.
holy shit have you evver tried this new substance called album in order

If you met someone with the same last name as you, how surprised would you be?
Not at all, it's very common
A little surprised, but wouldn't immediately assume a connection
I would be surprised and assume there was some relation
I would be very surprised that I *hadn't* met this person, we must be related
Does anyone else with this last name even exist?
starling
I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need a "This is absolutely NOT mature content" feedback button on posts. You can report a post as missing a community label. We should also be able to report posts as having a comminity label when they dont fucking need one.

"lupita nyong'o can't be helen of troy because helen was greek and there weren't black people in ancient greece"
DO YOU THINK THESE MOTHERFUCKERS DIDNT HAVE BOATS. THIS ENTIRE MOVIE IS ABOUT ONE OF THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS AND HIS BOAT
do you think these people can read
Best comment I just saw "Helen of Troy was perfectly cast, because all these men are fighting about her."

complimented a womans clear raincoat this morning and she said Well i feel like a sandwich
I keep seeing you post about Imperial Radch, should I read it? Will it make me insane or is it normal?
It will definitely either make you insane or you won't like it. It's one of those book series that you'll know within the first 20% of the first book whether you like it or not. Ancillary justice is quite a specific book with a specific narration style--I've seen people describe it as confusing, and the narrator's flat affect as dull or difficult to get into.
Personally, I love being directly in someone's head for a book, getting to see a particular world through a particular viewpoint. And breq is one of my all-time favorite protagonists. Overall it's a series about grief, about growing into yourself, about the personal stakes that inspire people to change their world. The first book goes hard on the tragedy elements and the horrors of empire and the others are significantly cozier. There are a shocking amount of plot-relevant tea parties. My failwife (gender neutral) Seivarden is there much of the time. There's a lot of gender but not in the way you'd expect and many dramatic & romantic events occur but at no point does anyone define any relationship. If those things sound enjoyable, you'll probably like it
if this sounds appealing to you then yes read it (I love the books with all my heart, i know the reviewer rated one star but pls imagine there being five stars and the exact same review)
