Snail! I managed to do another block in 2 days, which felt very good compared to my last 4 month project. The shell is made from tiny little kimono silk scraps, and the body is a gorgeous batik.
The finished block is 10.5 inches square, but for now it's going to live in this hoop until I figure out what to do with it.

Tried my hand at foundation paper piecing for the first time and damn, it took much longer than I had expected 😂
The result is pretty decent for first try though (the pattern is butterfly charm blocks by lillyella stitchery):
I cut the blue pieces too small which is why they don't make a perfect rectangle, but I think it'll be fixable and I've learned something for next time
