A dream, just a dream.

And even if justice is eventually served, it's not just her alone. This has been occurring for decades. Queers in this country have been burned alive, abused, raped, kicked out, and left for dead all over the island, with no mercy. No humanitarian coming out and speaking up against it. I will never forget. Several years ago, I heard a story of a trans woman who was tortured and raped in the capital city until she died. She was an up and coming humanitarian, make-up artist, who helped so many people in her community. It was a headline for like a day. And the news station who carried the story was forced to take it down. Every pride month I remember and mourn her, even though I don't remember her name. And there's so many others like her. Because it's normalized. And I mean almost everyone on this island. Millennials, and Gen-Z alike. But they will be the first persons to tell you how much God loves you. The first people to thank God for any and everything. And I don't mean to drag religion into this, but you would think that such a 'loving' and 'accepting' religion wouldn't commit atrocities like this to other people. I know this is not the only country that suffers with this, but it's very prevalent here, and it's so bothering to me. I hope justice is served for the lady's family, and for anyone else in this fucked up country that has to deal with this. If you are in a country that accepts you for who you are, and who you love, you are lucky.
