Can I say. I miss Carol Holiday. She's one of my favorite characters even if she's barely showed up because her situation is completely heartbreaking and she's so obviously shaped by the trauma of losing her daughter... She's a complex and morally gray middle aged woman and she needs more fans. I love you Carol Holiday
honestly i think people should describe women as "handsome" more often.
βitβs okay for girls to be feminineβ as if anyone in the history of humanity has ever told them itβs not, meanwhile butches and tomboys are a critically endangered species. girl, the reason you feel bad about being feminine is because youβre a girl, not because youβre feminine. men as a social class will hate you and everything they associate with women, because they hate women. but rest assured, women are still expected to perform femininity, because women performing femininity caters to men. that is what it is designed for. that is its social purpose to reinforce the gender hierarchy and men as the top social class. femininity is built on womenβs ability to endlessly serve men with their labor, particularly menial and undesirable household tasks, emotional labor, and sexual labor. men see femininity as beneath them and worthy of mockery because itβs meant to cater to them. of course they see it as beneath them, they designed it that way. but if women donβt perform femininity the way they want, they mock it, because the whole point of femininity is to cater to men. that includes putting women down to βkeep them in their placeβ, even women reinforcing the status quo.
that is why masculine women are far more socially stigmatized. they arenβt catering to the dominant gender class, so men despise masculine women. theyβll mock some feminine women for not catering to their specific ideals and kinks, but masculine women donβt fulfil the assigned social role of footstool nurse nymph cook servant mother punching bag, so men hate them and want an example made of them.
so get a grip. you donβt need positivity posts about how itβs okay to be feminine. not just because itβs constantly reinforced everywhere you look. but also because nearly all aspects of femininity are a psyop meant to condition women to cater to men. you should unlearn that shit. and for the love of god. stop telling girls βitβs okay to be feminine.β they fucking know. theyβre told being feminine is the only option. you should be telling girls itβs okay to be masculine. because i promise you, no one else is.
missing The Character is a strange thing because yea there's always the option to go back to their source material or looking at art or reading fics but it's also like i can't just call them up like i would a friend to see how they're doing and that's the frustrating part of it

becoming too OC pilled will ruin your fandom experience forever. i have invented The Character who is perfectly tailored to my own tastes and not beholden to any writers or showrunners. and i can even make more of them if i want. but watch out.
i don't want to actually write a fic, i want to create a gross scenario that i can roll around in for forever, like a dog in a bad smell. you feel me?

i love a morally grey ruthless woman who will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals (that she believes are for the greater good) and is also constantly wracked with guilt about what she's had to do but can't show it so she just comes across as cold and unfeeling to everyone

made it my mission to make this necklace about fem erwin (and some fem eruri crumbs β)
Thinking about how Glinda's skirts get progressively longer and more voluminous as the show progresses (not counting the bubble dress in NOMTW since that's out of order chronologically)
And the obvious reason for this is that it shows her maturing and gaining more status as the show goes on, but I wonder if there's also something to be said about her clothing becoming more cumbersome and restrictive. The bubble dress is heavy (I believe they tend to range about 12-15 lbs) and it's something that a lot of actresses complain about. Glinda in act 1 tends to have a lot of energy and very over-the-top body language. This is most apparent in popular, which varies between performances but usually involves a lot of jumping around, high kicks, even sometimes splits and attempted cartwheels. She loses this in act 2, both because she wants to project a more serious image as Glinda the Good and because she's just a lot less happy than she was in the first act. But there's also the additional fact that she couldn't do most of those things even if she wanted to, because of her clothing. The persona of Glinda the Good restricts her in a metaphorical sense and the clothing restricts her in a literal sense. She is physically unable to be as lively and expressive as she used to be. And I'm not sure this is intentional (there's also a broader point to be made here about women's clothing in general) but I think it's interesting nonetheless.
