I like the idea of bucky having slightly delayed reactions (healing isn’t linear, memory recovery etc) so while one day out of nowhere he shoves steve into a wall bc “that’s for your little swan dive into the arctic” one of the first time he laughs is because ‘captain america broke into the Smithsonian to steal his uniform back. almost kind of romantic’ to which steve shoots back, ‘and you’re the sap who remembered me by my face and not the shield’ (nat and sam eavesdrop from a distance because they’re still not sure if they’re together or not)

Stucky fic writers were truly on something else because earlier this week I remembered the line “they can bury us in one coffin to save on lumber” and thought it was a lyric from like a fucking hoizer song or something along those lines only to go get a drink at 2am in my kitchen and be hit over the head with the reminder it’s actually from a Stucky Fic I read in 2017.

Every once in while my brain just goes  "You're a brutal person, you know that? You're always rummaging through my guts with your bare hands." which is a @cesperanza line from a 2014 Stucky fic.

My brain always gives me "How long have I loved you for? Your ma was right, it's a stupid question. Womb to tomb, sweetheart." Which, if I haven't totally garbled it after not reading the fic for years, is from The Long Winter by whatarefears and dropdeaddream.

btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here
