The second thing is - I saw some comments “LOLLL but he did kill 300 grounders who were her people, who were her home, he is responsible for killing Lincoln (?), her love so I see where her pain goes from” and I’m like okay but - no???
Yes Bellamy is flawed. Yes he killed with Pike’s army grounders. There’re 137918 metas why he did what he did. There’re 182918 reasons why I understand his character, his motivation, why I understand that he was following Pike.
They’re punishing Bellamy all the time, it literally goes like this: bellamy does sth wrong - some characters are saying shit to him/he is hurting/almost dying. He hanged Murphy (because he thought he killed wells and almost every delinquent wanted that but ok) - and then Murphy hanged him. He beats Murphy - because of what he did to raven and to him - and then he is shocklash by Kane. He throw the radio (and he didn’t know that people on the ark are going to be floated), people died “because of his decision” (not really, but you know what I mean), and then he literally begs “Jaha” to kill him because he doesn’t deserve to live. Then in season 2 he went on suicide mission in MW, was tortured, locked up in cage, almost died couple of times, almost burn alive. THIS ALL IS HIS REDEMPTION ARC. And now he trusted Pike & killed with him and others army of warriors & “is half responsible for Lincon’s death” (not really but ok) - and his sister hates him, she beated him while he was chained to a rock, his people don’t trust him. And now even Jason said that in next season Bellamy doesn’t think he deserves to live. So you will see another whole season of redemption arc how everyone - including probably grounders - are more worth saving than him. because this dude literally hates himself more than all you fucking haters can hate him.
meanwhile Octagon Blake - (who was my favourite character before s3 btw!) - has never ever apologised for her actions and they’re interpreted as “being good”. Of course her actions aren’t that powerful like throwing the radio, killing grounders etc, but what is here important that - she was never, NOT EVEN ONCE, called out on them. It’s like showing what she is doing is “right”.
In S1 she has fight with Bellamy, he said “my life ended the day you were born”, she said “You wanted me to go on that stupid dance, you got mom killed!”. Then episode later Bellamy apologises, says that his life didn’t even start until then (until she was born), O says she loves him but nothing more for 3 seasons. So what - she really thinks that it’s bellamy’s fault that theirs mother died?
In s1 Bellamy goes to the ground for her, his whole life is around her, to keep her safe, he shot Jaha to do that - which isn’t of course right thing to do but she doesn’t even try to understand him? - all she says is “I didn’t ask for this”
S1 - Bellamy tortures Lincoln to save Finn - you know, the guy she was falling for in first episodes? - yet of course it’s wrong according to O.
S2 (I really loved her mostly but..) - Lincoln is literally fighting with drug addiction and she beates him & is teaching him about “being grounder” em? and no one questions it. it’s true love.
S3 - same with Indra. To Indra apparently it’s O “being strong” or idn.
S3 - monty&bryan&bellamy are on pike’s side yet while they decided to switch sides (bellamy was the first one actually!) octavia trusts everyone but not bellamy, her brother, the only person she had for 15 years on the ark. No one talks about it.
S3 - she beats him while he is chained and while some of them want to stop it, he says of course “no” because he - in bellamy’s mind - deserve it. (as always, typical bell)
S3 - No one talks about this later, no “what the fuck is wrong with you” to octavia, even clarke didn’t mention bellamy’s scars when she saw it (ok she doesn’t know it’s octavia who did this), not even one fucking sentence from kane/miller/harper/bryan who saw what she did.
S3 - she wants to trade bellamy to monty, the guy who also was on pike’s side but she is totally okay with him, and even has a “deep convo” about how she feels she doesn’t have home anymore.
S3 - gina dies, bellamy’s girlfriend for 3 months, o, the loving sister, isn’t on the memorial, doesn’t even try to talk to bellamy about what he has been through.
(not to mention that pike is better friend to bellamy in that moment and not his family-o but okok)
S3 - bellamy is in jail with pike, she still doesn’t talk to him about why he is on pike’s side (this scene was cut, thanks the100writers)
Lincoln is struggeling with living inside arkadia, people are treating him as enemy - he can’t leave because of kill order commander put on him - yet o has to be mad because he got a jacket. pls.
Octagon could have killed 300 skypeople and y’all wouldn’t care because probably no one would have called her out in the show.
In s4 she is going to be assassin (she is going to kill everyone who is on her way or some other shit) and y’all will praise her of being “strong female”, take her, I have other strong, complex, flawed, interesting characters I can look up to.
