So I’m rewatching some Miraculous Ladybug and I’ve just finished Queen Wasp and honestly - Marinette fucked it all up.
The girl went to comfort Chloe and took her to see her mother, Chloe even looked at her for guidance before asking her mum that heartbreaking line “why don’t you love me mum?”
Audrey stutters and calls Chloe the wrong name (again) - now you would think that Marinette would be shocked, applaud and annoyed at Audrey for acting that way to Chloe and give her a piece of her mind like she did with Jagged Stone (i know that episode is later on but still), bot no, Marinette decides to do the stupid thing and instead of defending Chloe, she says that Chloe is mean just like Audrey which gets the mother and daughter to bond.
Like…wtf? You’re using that to make them bond Marinette, and not defending Chloe and telling Audrey to be a better mother?
If Marinette did defend Chloe then things would have gone much more differently, Audrey would have the yell she finally needed (this woman is a horrible mother) and Chloe would have found some comfort in Marinette and make her way to being the good person she is deep down.
Does she not think that having to redo years of schoolwork in a short cram period to catch up to the others isn’t ‘consequences’? The fact that it will probably be after-school detention too?
What the fuck does she think the ‘consequences’ should be for this situation??????
Do the writers think Chloe doesn’t deserve an education? Like, how did this even happen? This makes me feel bad for Chloe, not hate her. How has her dad let her get away with this? How have teachers not noticed? This is an absolute failure of every adult in Chloe’s life and the writers want us to hate Chloe for it. What the fuck.
Everyone but Chloe looks awful for this. Sabrina for enabling her for so long, Roger for not putting a stop to it, Bustier and every teacher Chloe has ever had for not noticing, Marinette for opposing??? Chloe having to redo years of schooling, Andre for being an absolute dogshit father who allowed this to happen, everybody looks horrible for this except the person their trying to make look bad.
The only victim of this crime is its own perpetrator, Chloe’s education is so screwed up it’s no wonder she doesn’t know what the word generous means. She will likely need years of tutoring just to fix this. They couldn’t resist making her stupid as well as evil and that makes the writers ableist assholes. Because they want us to think it is Chloe’s own fault for being dumb and laugh at her. Fuck this show.

they make her popular online so the only “love” she gets is fake.
they make sure she’s praised for every increasingly shitty thing she does.
then they bring her back to her original town, full of the people she hurt, so she can see how everyone has moved on from the harm she caused.
how she’s the only one still hung up on her glory days.
when she lashes out again, the lowest person in her eyes fucking laughs at her and walks away, unharmed.
then she’s brought back to that same isolation chamber.
and i’m supposed to look at this and think “good riddance”.

Mizuki didn't know how to explain it to him.
She was afraid that he would judge her or not understand her.
Clearly she had no proof that he was going to do it, but the fear wasn't going to go away that easily, not when it came from years ago.
She hadn't even told her family because she knew they would judge her.
But he wasn't her family, he was her partner.And she couldn't help being afraid to tell him.
“C-Can we talk about something?”They were in Baku's room at that moment; she clearly wouldn't say it in her own room. What would happen if his brother walked in just as she told him?
Baku turned around to see what his partner wanted to tell him, although he began to notice her nervousness from the way she was fidgeting with her hands.
"What's wrong, Mizu?" He asked her, with that worried tone that always disarmed her.There was no turning back now, she had to tell him.
“What do you think of non-binary umbrella people?” she had to take it slowly, she was still afraid to tell him directly.
Baku was a little surprised by Mizuki's question; he didn't fully understand why she had asked him that question.
“Well… what do you want me to think? It doesn't matter how they identify themselves if that's how they feel comfortable with themselves.”
"And what would you think if I were one of those people?" Mizuki blurted out suddenly, though worry was still evident in her voice, a fear that he would reject her.
“Uh… What?” He was clearly confused. Mizuki had blurted that out of nowhere as soon as he finished what he was saying. He wasn't fully understanding the conversation they were having and didn't know the reasons for it.
"I…" She had to say it, she couldn't back down, she couldn't say it was nothing when it was obvious it was something. "I don't completely identify as a girl, actually I identify with any gender identity that exists, only… well, you can probably guess, but you… ughh" She put her hands to her face, she didn't know how to continue explaining why she couldn't say it, mostly because her family would judge her. "But you won't look at me funny, will you?"
Clearly she was afraid; she was always prepared for rejection.
And then he felt a hand on his head.
“Wow, and here I was thinking that some of your clothing choices were just because you were a tomboy” He said calmly, letting out a soft chuckle “I mean, it wouldn't be bad if you were, but it's not bad how you identify either, I'm going to love you however you identify.”
Mizuki felt a sense of relief, and felt tears threatening to spill.
On impulse, Mizuki lunged forward and hugged Baku, feeling tears begin to flow.
She was clearly grateful, and didn't quite know how to say it, but that hug said it all.
Baku was surprised for a moment after the hug, but after understanding that in that way she was expressing her gratitude for accepting her, he gave a small smile as he put his hands around her waist and returned the hug.
Because it doesn't matter how Mizuki identifies herself.
He was going to accept her, because he didn't fall in love with how she looked on the outside.But for the person they was on the inside.
