I will smite you like a dragon' and while Dexter can't fight. He tells Sparrow in a monotone, "I can easily pay any student to pay you a visit Sparrow".
🩵 Both are very nervous and worried if they're relationship ever reaches King and Queen Charming. Daring is terrified if that happens. Sparrow less so.
🟢 Sparrow is very dramatic to climbing up the dorm tower to Darings room just so he can chill with his Boyfriend. Daring chastises but loves it every time.
🩵 Daring confided to Holly first. IN a spur of the moment and needing to tell someone and then to his siblings later. While Sparrow told Duchess (obviously WHO kept that secret under her feathers. She is territorial if someone would hurt Sparrow).
🟢 Sparrow plans little dates in his treehouse for Daring. Sometimes his Merrymen will butt in and help him out and plan something OR play wingmen and be his loving little demon on his shoulder
🩵 Daring loves to spoil Sparrow with small gifts and small and expensive looking trinkets. Sparrow can't obviously afford anything like that but he makes up for it with another present that he poured a lot of care into. Even if its not up to Royal standards like others might think.
🟢 Both are aware of the class difference between them. Sparrow obviously knows he can't meet the class standards of a Royal like the Charming family but it still hurts a little when he thinks of getting Daring anything extravagant. Daring obviously worries about the difference from time to time
🩵 If either needs help in the relationship department. They'll go to Cupid first OR Daring will go to Hunter while Sparrow will go to Ashlynn since they are EAH's first destiny-crossed couple.
🟢 Kitty once saw them making out in the forest while she was catnapping.
🩵 They sneak quick kisses or small moments of affection to each other when noone is watching. Except for one kitty...

🩵 Daring keeps up the ladies-prince with the other girls at Ever After. Knowing he can't afford to lose that reputation. Sparrow knows this and always claims 'Babe its fine. I totally understand.' while Daring always feels bad every single time he has to act all cute with Apple or which other girl.
🟢 Since the Beast transformation in Epic Winter, he was turned down by Rosabella who wasn't looking for a relationship. Doing some self-digging, he asked himself some questions. Panicked internally and came to terms with it before realizing that he would have to keep his Destiny up

One. Daring has canonically signed the book of legends–as snow white’s prince.
Two. Daring becomes the beast to rosabella’s beauty.
This means daring has conflicting fates. much like @pontipines I think the way the charmings work as a whole, magic wise and in relation to the story book of legends, is that the charmings, and their various branches, are meant to churn out princes and princesses to fill in the gaps of the various fairytales where a prince or princess is included in a happily ever after, or even the bigger ones where they serve active roles (snow white, beauty and the beast, etc).
we know this in part because dexter tells raven he's a miscellaneous prince in the first EAH book, and that he wants to know what his destiny is exactly, because not knowing is kind of anxiety-inducing! (Or smth like that, its been a minute since ive read the books in full, have to remedy that to try and compile all the sparrow moments lol)
Daring was meant to be snow whites prince because he was the most popular and influential of the charmings and everyone considers apple’s story to be the biggest. But the role gets reassigned–apple’s prince, which is equated to apple's true love, who then turns out to be darling–and so daring is slotted into a new fairytale despite having already signed the book as apple’s prince.
(on true love–we already know the world of ever after high functions on various types of conflicting magic rules, one being true love v destiny. Ex: Hopper Croakington III and Ginger Breadhouse. True Love breaks any spell. A frog can turn back to a prince after a kiss from a princess. Ginger is a witch. Ginger’s kiss frees Hopper (tho he is unaware and thinks its briar’s kiss) now, we know that ginger has her destiny (hansel and gretel’s witch) and hopper has his (he’s the frog prince with a HEA and a princess) so their two destinies are never meant to intersect; yet Ginger is somehow Hopper’s True Love and she breaks a curse on him. Suggesting that Destiny limits the students of EAH, and that they all should have had their own bigger individual unique destinies/stories outside of their ancestors’)
*also, unrelated, but i feel like book 3 was showcasing/pushing daring/lizzie which is probs why darling/rosabella blindsided me lolll
There are a bunch of woefully under explored characters that I think would’ve made for REALLY good Suzanne selfors books, but my main ones are:
Courtley POV character, Alistair secondary character, where something goes wrong at the school and Grimm threatens to expel her. We can up the stakes by saying that if she’s expelled, she has to go back to jail in Wonderland, and that she’s really trying to turn over a new card so she’s doing everything in her power to stop that. With Alistair’s riddle thing, and lack of involvement with Courtley as an antagonist, I can see him being someone that chooses her side. It would also be good to look deeper into her motivations in the wonderland plot. The show painted a very shallow picture of her the same way it did Duchess, and given what Selfors did for Duchess, I have no doubt that Courtley could have an interesting background that pushed her to take the action she thought she needed to
Justine and Ramona, with Justine as the POV character. The selfors books have never shied away from taking inspiration from existing dynamics (duchess and sparrow, holly and poppy) so I would’ve LOVED a story between these two following their webisode. I would like it to complete Justine’s story arc of unlearning her biases. She believes that Ramona is acting suspiciously, but it goes completely against her expectations— she finds out Ramona is actually the daughter of Red Riding Hood. I think she’d have an inner battle with whether or not she’s meant to “report” this to anyone, but ultimately chooses not to. She and Ramona become closer as a result. I see Ramona as a very guarded person, so I’d LOVE for Justine to be the first person Ramona can trust. Queercoding is necessary btw
I’d love a very nature themed one with Jillian perspective and Nina as the secondary main character. With the race and gender politics of kiss and spell and semi charming kind of life respectively, I feel like a missing key issue is environmental justice. As very earthy floral girls, Jillian and Nina feels quite natural for this. I could easily see it being the school wanting to cut down a portion of the enchanted forest to like. Make a school swimming pool or something. Ashlynn and Hunter could definitely be part of the supporting cast for this. I’d also just love to see those two girls get fleshed out more since both of them only have one webisode each

If you're interested in knowing what post is, this is part 1
(Naturally I'm going to focus more on commenting the friendship aspect of the series, but there's room to explore another Dynamics. I do this more based on the series and not the books, that being said, let's go!)
• The boys: Now, I wanted to talk about them in the last post but I already wrote a lot about Cupid, and with the boys I was afraid I was gonna make the post endless.
Now I do want to clarify that when I talk about the boys i'm referring to Daring, Hunter, Dexter, Sparrow and Hopper, the Ever After boys, now of course you can add Alistair and Chase (if only they put him on the show) eventually, but even with that, it would have been really cool if they had a little more of focus.
One of my answers of the previous post I was talking about this idea of episode that could be connected with the episode of the fairy ball: Hunter tells Ashlynn that he cannot go with her to that ball because of the movie night he's gonna have with the boys. This episode would be complementary, Hunter, Sparrow, Daring and Hopper having some shenanigans, and even interact with the first date of Dexter and Raven (because ngl Dexven special episode are kind of boring), it would be fun if the guys try to give Dexter advice to handle a date or try to help them out and fail miserably, I just think it would be fun.
Can you imagine these guys wanted to see a horror movie but they see Dexter and Raven in their first date embarrassed and not knowing what to do? So they tried to help Dexter in his date with Raven failing miserably, with a bunch of jokes and confusing Dexter in a moment because of course four completely different boys are trying to tell him how to flirt.
Another idea for an episode is: Hunter doesn't want to be anymore in the bookball team so he decides that he wants to go with the cheerhexeers, the boys react in a way I can only describe as this episode of Big Time Rush where the guys are actually flabbergasted bcs Kendall does ice skating; nonetheless they accept it, another episode could be a direct continuation of this one before, where they’re trying to find a replacement for Hunter on the team while Hunter helps them, the possibilities are completely endless, with good comedy, show those episodes would have been gold.
Kitty and Cerise: yeah I love their dynamic in that one episode, we should've had more of them, even a little bit in spring unsprung or some of the Cerise centered episodes.
Chase and Darling: platonic Chaseling I'm rooting for you. Sometimes I just imagine them being in a friendly rivalry, but what if I tell you unhinge rivalry?
Briar and Faybelle: I feel like we need to see more of them before Epic winter, they are a parallelism of Raven and Apple dynamic and that's fascinating, Faybelle could've interacted with Briar in Thronecoming since is her special and give her another pov.
Cedar and someone: I can say “Cedar is the best character on Ever After high books” and while you could disagree, we all can agree that Cedar it's an amazing character in the books.
Tiny and someone: he's friends with Jillian so more about them being besties BCS he's a sweetheart, he's also friends with the boys so i need them to try to include Tiny in some of their shenanigans.
Also hear me out: after the episode were the girl get really small, Tiny and Nina bonding.
I'm going to do the same critique as I did with Cupid in part 1. I feel she needs more time with the people that are supposed to be her friends, she's supposed to be friends with Raven, Cerise, Maddie, Ashlynn, Hunter, Kitty, Lizzie (probably), and yet she has only talked to Raven, Ashlynn and Hunter, and I don't even know if the last two talk to her ever again after True & hearts day, so yeah my point is, we needed more of Cedar in the series and we needed more platonic Dynamics with Cedar.
The cheerhexeers: Ok but hear me out, Faybelle and the other ones (Hunter, Holly, Farrah and Nina) just because I imagine Faybelle as some kind of Sue Sylvester with a megaphone telling them and the dynamic overall could've been gold.
Mirrornet gang: I also wanted to talk about them, but I knew it was going to get long, so...
I would absolutely love a bunch of episodes with Blondie, Dexter, Cupid and Humphrey's shenanigans (they'll be my favorite type of group trope I'm afraid) (someone commented also about Ginger and Hopper being part of it and that's so interesting, can you imagine Ginger having her cooking segment or Hopper having his segment of poetry? IN THIS ESSAY I-)
In this case it also helps the individuals of what I'm going to call the core group, because just as show!Cupid, show!Blondie, show!Dexter and show!Humphrey give me the energy they don't have friends and that's criminal, cuz I can just imagine a lot of episodes where they interact with each other learning a lot about each other and actively helping.
You know I already don't like the fairy ball special (because it just feels wrong to me), but some moments could actually be a lot better if this friendship had happened. If Dexter were friends with Blondie and we already know they're friends, her interaction with Raven in that episode where she is advising her about dates wouldn't be so clearly a commercial. Or Cupid and Blondie also trying to compete for the Thronecoming Queen with Dexter and Humphrey making the online voting system, COULD HAVE BEEN SHOULD HAVE BE-
The O'Hair Twin sisters with someone: I haven't realized that much about this if it wasn't for a reply, and i think this is a main issue with the twins, these girls besides each other don’t have an important interaction with other characters and that, sadly reflects a lot on their personalities. Unless...
You know, i really like this idea of Poppy with Duchess & Sparrow not only bcs i like the vibe but also bcs this silence onesided bickering that Duchess has with Poppy, like we saw on the episode of the ice skating and even when Poppy was introduce that Duchess in the background was too stunt to speak, meanwhile it would've been interesting to explore Holly, cause i feel she's more flat than Poppy, give her an episode about her writing, you could try to give her this as a way to escape the royal agenda, with this you explore her friendship with Apple (that is something very important to her apparently when I look in her profile) and then Cedar could start to like what she's writing and they decide to share with her some time, also just like I said, give her a friendship with the cheerhexeers squad, that can help her A LOT.
The classics: yeah it's a pun to "the plastics" (Apple, Briar and Ashlynn) and technically a continuation of Ashlynn/Briar, but here, I want to comment how amazing it is developing all of them BCS of the plot, I've already give ideas like Briar being the other friend that Ashlynn is afraid to tell her relationship with Hunter, Apple and Briar meaning a lot for Ashlynn and having hiding this secret.
Let's say that Ashlynn is in the scene were Briary and Apple argue before Thronecoming, after Briar say "you would get poison for what? Like a week?" And the tension appears between Apple and Briar, Briar explains her pov and when she says "Raven is gonna sign, but maybe I don't want to anymore" Apple reaches for Briar and Ashlynn stops her bcs it would be a subtle detail that Ashlynn is on Briar side and Apple is feeling they're growing apart BCS she actually believes in the system and her two friends don't.
And Dragon Games (that I like to think it's an Apple centric special even though Raven has a lot agency aswell), imagine if not only Raven found out, but also these two, and then we could've had these important moments before and after Apple falls asleep.

EXACTLY!! I know Ever After High is to empower girls but it was such a place of comfort for everyone. And the show isn't just about princesses, the rebel group arent princesses and they're half the school.
This is such a comfort show for all queer people, with the whole idea of "rewriting our destiny" and defying our parents, and I'm really upset that they randomly decided its a princess show for princesses when its so much deeper than that.
It made me think of all the fans of both shows who weren't the target audience. Who weren't tween girls. Who were boys or who liked different things or who were gay!
It could have felt like, the thing you liked was more encasing towards the target.

Gifts that i think the kids have received for the Thronecoming, since we have only saw Blondie, Briar, Cerise, Cedar, Holly and Poppy
Raven was supposed to have her mother's wand. For witches and fairies, a wand is a catalyst that allows them to control their powers. As a catalyst, it would have allowed Raven to access even "good" magic without repercussions.
Apple may have received an enchanted corset, the same one worn by the first Snow White. Once a symbol of defeat at the hands of the queen, it's now a familiar weapon. Besides being a reminder to lose weight (heh heh), it would have protected her from fatal blows (like the huntsman's). It also enhances her beauty.
Ashlynn received two dresses: one pure gold and one pure silver. Just like in the Grimm fairy tale. Cinderella knows she'll die before her daughter, and if she can't return as a spirit, she'll give her at least two-thirds of the dresses.
Hunter received from his father an indestructible axe that can cut through any material, from wolf furr to dragon skin. In addition, a pair of gloves made of excellent leather, to avoid damaging hands.
Daring, Dexter, and Darling are all descendants of Siegfried's Charming line, so they received the family gift: An enchanted golden ring that grants them their ancestor's abilities when worn (invulnerability, speaking with animals, etc.). The only difference is the stone inside: Daring has a lapis lazuli, Dexter a sapphire and Darling a blue agate
Hopper received a yo-yo, which is none other than the famous golden globe from the first Frog Princess. It will help him easily find the princess because it has a sort of radar inside. It's a sort of advance tinder.
Rosabella received the Beast's magic glove, the one of the Couctoue movie, which allows her to teleport wherever she wants. It is a very old family artifactand there is only one other replica present in the school treasury
Lizzie received a flamingo sword. It's double-edged, so it's good for executions.
Maddie got a Ever Afterish-Riddlish dictionary. So she can learn and teach the langue
Kitty received a collar (she's a cat, after all) that allows her to shapeshift at will. The size is adjustable and can also be used as a bracelet.
Faybelle has received Sleeping Beauty's magic spindle. In addition to its original function, it can spin anything she desires.
Sparrow has received an indestructible and, above all, infallible bow. Every arrow he shoots is destined to hit its mark, and it can even be a crossbow.
Duchess has received her mother's enchanted crown (yes It's a real item in Swan Lake) which will protect her from Rotbarth and Odile's magic, and allow her to control her curse and still switch to human form even after sun rise.
Cupid has received Aphrodite's magic girdle, which makes anyone fall in love. It was created by Hephaestus.
Melody received a pair of shoes, made by the same cobbler as Blondie, which allow her to walk on the waters of the river.
In addition, each kids received a letter from their parents.

His full name is Sparrow Richard Hood. He hates his middle name.
He is technically royalty on his mother’s side, as she is a noblewoman. But it’s a very distant lineage.
He’d have been held back a few grades, but Headmaster Grimm had implemented the “No Tale Left Behind” Policy a few decades before Sparrow was enrolled to fast-track destinies.
Sparrow’s parents were barely in his life. His father cares more about his “charity business” than his son’s emotional wellbeing. Maid Marian suffered from untreated postpartum depression that left her unable to bond with or raise Sparrow. The kid pretty much grew up free-ranged.
His Merry Men used to play with him only because their dads were friends. But when Sparrow got into rock and counterculture, they all thought he was super cool and wanted to hang out with him.
The only good influence in his life was his Aunt Heather. She introduced him to punk rock and heavy metal, and she’s the only person who gave him any sense of security growing up. She would have taken him in, but Robin Hood insisted Sparrow stay in Nottingham Forest. This led to Sparrow running away from home on several occasions.
He and Duchess met after he tried to use animal summoning song on her in swan form. He apologized for a year after that.
His favorite bands are True Love’s KISS, Thorns N’ Roses, Black Rabbith, Arrowsmith, and his own.
He has and will eat food out of the garbage if you pay him.
His fashion style is generally punk, but he incorporates a lot of feminine elements such as high heels, fishnets, and makeup. He’d wear a skirt or a dress if it was leather and studded.
His relationship with Duchess is platonic, though he does like to flirt with her just to rile her up. In terms of romance, he likes her style but she's not his type.
His status within fairytale society is... complicated. Robin Hood is supposed to aid the poor people of Nottingham, but he steals from people in power to do so. Anti-heroes are gray areas, and gray areas are dangerous. Thus, he's often labelled as a villain to make things simpler for everyone else.
Sparrow flirts with most of the girls in his class just to mess with them, but he gets really flustered with girls he actually likes. This is part of the reason he feels the need to keep his crush on Holly secret.
He doesn’t do the whole bow-and-arrow archery like his dad. He prefers a crossbow, and his guitar can turn into one. He doesn’t use it very often though.
He has a preference for "good girls". On the surface, he portrays himself as the bad boy who seeks to corrupt the innocence of the goodie-two-slippers girl. Deep down though, he wants someone in his life who can connect with him, ground him, and love him unconditionally.
While it's true Duchess pays him to keep up their friendship, he genuinely enjoys her company. He's just not gonna pass up free money.
He only joined the bookball team because his dad made him. He's more of a bench warmer.
He technically has a room in the dorms, but he prefers to live off-campus in his treehouse.
His band filled with royals (Tucker Friar, Little Jake, Aaron A'Dale) and rebels (Murdoch Millerson, Ward Scarlett). But against all odds, Sparrow has kept the band from breaking up because of this. He does nothing to resolve the actual conflict though. Every famous band has its drama.
Sparrow craves attention more than anything, and he’s sometimes loud and obnoxious on purpose. But he genuinely seeks the admiration of others, leaving him with mixed results regarding friendship.
EAH moodboards because I do wanna draw them but I'm still tired out and wanna finish other drawings first. Ashlynn, Hunter, Duchess, Rosabella and Darling.
This order is entirely just what characters I did first I would have put darling with her brothers but I'm still figuring out what I'm gonna do for them visually.
