Puck news - a very legitimate news website - wrote in a story that Armie cried when he saw the final cut of Citizen Vigilianti and was disgusted by the message which according to many has an anti immigrant message.
I'm glad Armie is mature and did limited press for the movie because not doing press is unprofessional but I'm also glad this side of the story is out too. Because he isn't right wing and he doesn't have an issue with immigrants. He's an immigrant for all those years he lived in another country as a child.
Looking forward to his next two films that won't have this right wing message.
Also, as a Canadian Uwe Boll lives in my Canada as an immigrant. He's got a lot of nerve. Smh.
PS. This makes sense why a friend like Ashton hasn't promoted the film on his ig stories.
I've seen a lot of posts like this, actually, and let's see if they can be real. That probably means he won't be filming Part 2??
I will publish only this but I don't want absolutely my Tumblr a place about politic talks and I want to add that I'm extremely grateful to Uwe and his Citizen Vigilante movie that was one of the few that had balls to cast Armie when he was and outcast .
I totally agree with you, @silvyysthings
Even though Uwe Boll is a controversial figure (and I've been following his account closely lately, from the time they shot the film until just before the promo), and even though I don't agree with his ideas—which I sometimes find extreme—I'll still be grateful to him for the opportunity he gave Armie.
I’d like to underline something that’s important to me. Up until now I haven’t expressed my opinion, but I see that this discussion has been going on for days on social media. I don’t think the problem is the film itself. It’s a film, it tells a story, and we could talk for hours about the various aspects that deserve analysis. The real issue is the way this film is being instrumentalized. Films like this have always existed, but here people are taking a very clear stance because it has become a political banner for the right.
As for Armie, as I’ve already written elsewhere, since he keeps getting personally attacked: he’s an actor playing a role. He’s not even the protagonist. Obviously it’s convenient for the newspapers to go after him, and we’ve understood that. Unfortunately, sometimes you’d need a “license” to watch a film, because no matter how controversial or repulsive it may be, it’s clear that it should be explained to people. So honestly, all this mess is really insane.
