As for how he knows English—being shipped from England to America and forced to endure centuries of nonstop tourist chatter tends to do that to a person. After a few hundred years of listening to people yap, picking up the language was inevitable. And if you’re wondering how he can even speak at all… it’s magic. Don’t question it.

On the subject of magic, Petep is capable of creating illusions so vivid they feel genuinely real. He also dabbles in mind reading and has a deeply unsettling fondness for making people relive their most traumatic memories—purely because he finds it funny. Yes. He’s kind of a dick.

Imagine how interesting it could have been if Erda didn’t die lore wise pointless death and actually survived up to the 41st millennium and somehow either manipulation or merit was elected as a new advisor for Guillimen.

But nobody knows who she really is.

And imagine if she knew that Lion returned and is telling Guillimen to lead the next crusade into Imperium Nihilus.

I have this silly headcanon that after her murder at the hands of Erebus with the Athame dagger, Erda’s body couldn’t fully reform in realspace, leaving her trapped in the Warp. After millennia—whether eons or mere minutes in Warp time—she eventually found herself watching the T’au. At first she was only an observer, using the comparatively weak souls of the T’au to hide from Chaos. But after the appearance of the Ethereals—beings who may or may not be creations of the Eldar—Erda gradually began to influence certain events for the T’au. She wasn’t strong enough to do anything overt, and they never noticed her, but she was able to guide them through subtle manipulations over the centuries she spent among the xenos. However, after the opening of the Startide Nexus, she began to take a more active role.

How I imagine the Emperor was after his and Erda’s brake up. This would honestly explain a lot on why he’s so incredibly inconsistent with his powers and especially emotions and empathy.

Bro was still dealing with being dumped and Malcador was there to actually suffer from the consequences, cuz has also deal with the Primarchs and their emotionally unstable asses.
