Sorry for the rando rant in your inbox. Not specifically deltarune, but it really bothers me when it comes to fantis and pro-censorship people is that they ignore the fact characters are DOLLS, and the purpose of characters is to explore dynamics, no matter how dark. A recent frustration is with the WHA fandom. I'm interested in the dynamic between Qifrey and Coco, including the darker aspects of it, and what would it take to push that dynamic on a darker path. Considering Qifrey is already morally grey, I'm curious about the psychological and the theme of "anyone has the capacity to be an abuser and cross over their own moral horizon" and "love often mingles with abuse". Honestly, by most fanti logic, it should be considered weird people are enjoying shipping the children in WHA (coco x agott which i also like.) because didn't they use to say shipping equates to fetishising? But we know nobody can decide what counts or doesn't count as romanticising/sexualising/ect anymore. I want complex what if's explored. I want scenarios that still keep the character in character but explore narrative angles that could push them to get WORSE. But people play it "too safe", even if it's not your cup of tea, respect that stories are stories to explore human complexity. Like how with deltarune, people bashing those who see the weird route as a metaphor for COCSA. Despite the characters being the same age and so on. :/ Because god fucking forbid people can't use fiction to contextualize and take power back over their lives, or just be interested in the psychological aspects of it and how it can be interpreted.
