“I’m not going to let them guilt you into working when you’re not supposed to be.” She watches Emery swallow, throat bobbing as she seems to choose her next words carefully. “I already have to watch it enough when you’re actually on shift. I’m not going to let it happen tonight too—not when you’re with me.”

“I enjoy helping out. I want to help out.” Her voice is smaller than she wants, coming out almost quiet, desperation coating every word.

if you could sit down and finish any completely new fic without anything stopping you (time, tiredness, etc), what would you write? tell us about it if you want! [ask game]

my dream would be to have the attention span and free time to sit and crank out my entire mowalsh a/b/o canonverse au. it's set during samira's intern year and emery's first year as an attending, and basically ptmc puts a ban on mating with coworkers because they've had some issues with the logistics of it. but samira is about to go through her first heat without suppressants, and emery hears this and offers to help her out. they then enter a multi-year long toxic situationship and sneak around. i have so many ideas for this fic but i just need the time and energy to write it 😵‍💫

is there an au or trope that you haven't written before, but would want to try? [ask game]

i'm dying to write more of my firefighter/paramedic au, so that's something i really want to try and branch out with! i also would love to try writing a mowalsh criminal minds/bau au. for tropes, i think fake dating is super fun, so maybe one day i'll dip my toe into it.

omg thoroughfare my baby... i have not forgotten about her i promise. i would say my favorite part is their conversation at the fireplace. i love writing tension and atmospheric parts of scenes so this was a fun one!

what's a song or two you associate with [the rush of blood] [ask game]

i have way too many, but a few are: margaret by lana del rey, the scientist by coldplay, and haunted by beyoncé. i also had futile devices (doveman remix) by sufjan stevens looping while i wrote the OR scene from chapter 3 and it summed up the vibes perfectly.

how do you want your writing to feel to your readers? [ask game]

this is going to sound so strange, but for my mowalsh stuff i want it to feel like you're reading a research report samira is putting together as the plot goes along, taking in little pieces of evidence and analysis until you reach a conclusion alongside her. i also just want it to be enjoyable for people and something they can have fun reading!

3. i have a hard time perceiving my own writing/actually letting myself enjoy it and not think it's a mess (lol) but something i don't dislike about it is that i tend to devote a lot of time to characters thoughts and how they sort through their thoughts. the differences between characters thought patterns (based on my interpretations of their traits) are fascinating to me, so i try to weave that into my work through writing a lot (probably way too much) of introspection.

tell us about a wip/idea that you're excited about: [ask game]

i've been working a lot on my mowalsh apocalyptic(ish)/jurassic park au, and i'm getting super excited about it! i've also been outlining a mowalsh regency with a hint of pride and prejudice au based on season two of bridgerton. both are very different in terms of tone/vibe but are very fun to play around with.
