I'm never going to believe Agnes kissed Becka in a "sisterly" "comforting" "pitying" way and chief among my reasons is that The Testaments is Very heavy on visual symbolism. Agnes gets the bride in the cake meaning she will be the first to marry. Her engagement to the commander is cut off and Who Fucking Kissed The Bride at Becka's Wedding? Agnes. That's her Wife.

commander weston would have LOVED being just a sketchy teacher,,,,gets too close to the kids and acts like he knows all their problems just to hurt them and then run away when the scandal got to close

also since im posting abt #myagnes i do love how she is not really set up as an actively rebellious character, except for her crush on garth which she honestly feels mostly crushing guilt about. i think the fact that she was The Gilead Girl, set to get the best commander, set to have a lavish life, the fact that she was able to throw away this power for becka means so much to me.

the testaments is amazing for so many reasons but one of the best is the show not tell with agnes. we are never told that agnes is the one of the top students in her school, but we are shown it. we are shown her being given the job to protect daisy. we are shown her getting the best commander, being given a second chance at the ball when shes talking to all the commanders. miss girl is gilead valedictorian and she doesn't even know it. shes a pleasure to have in class. shes nice, shes considered kind, shes humble and godly. she, despite her mother, has all the opportunities laid out in front of her,,,,,and then she THROWS THEM AWAY 4 YURI REASONSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
