PERSONALITY: Etsuko is most commonly and easily described as a “mean bitch”, and while she is both mean and a bitch, she is also incredibly intelligent, cunning, and sly. Etsuko is a pro at hiding her own emotions and getting a job done, even if that means going against what she really feels. She rarely makes her motives known on top of that, being a very secretive person by nature. She also relies very heavily on her sibling; it’s said that without Tsubasa, Etsuko is essentially nothing. Notably, she is only ever bold when Tsubasa is around, though she is almost never truly aggressive, with or without them nearby. APPEARANCE: Etsuko has mostly-straight, neatly-done black hair which curls at the tips, and is tinted purple. She is very small, almost dainty, with a thin bone structure and thin face. Her face is more similar to Kokichi’s than Rantaro’s or Tsubasa’s, and she has very little muscle. Her eyes are big and round, giving her a doe-eyed appearance, and are fully heterochromatic violet and green. Etsuko has expressed being upset with her heterochromia, because she feels as though it unfairly alienates her from her sibling and draws more attention to herself.

Attached is an image of two birds, one eating out of a human hand. Their heads appear black and blue and the visible beak is bright orange to yellow at the tip; the majority of their bodies are green with a yellow patch on the back of the neck and on the legs, but their crests are bright red.

We document what we see as we care for them. With these lorikeets, they perform courtship dances, preen each other, build nests, defend their territory & copulate.

Are your other exhibits all female or all male therefore setting these birds apart in that there are no other females or males therefore 2 males or 2 females i.e. same sex”

Denver Zoo replied “Hi Kimberly, our lorikeets live in a large aviary where they have the freedom to choose with whom they do or don’t associate with, with plenty of choices from either sex. We see this with social groups and with breeding pairs.” and “In the case of Trey and Apollo, they are male lorikeets who have chosen each other’s company over other mates. We know they are a pair because of the courtship behaviors they display, and that they can always be found in proximity of one another, as we see with female-male pairs.”
