Except that canonically Mario is an abusive jackass and sore loser. He abuses Yoshi in Super Mario World, punching him in the head & dropping him into a pit (and yes, that is the only way to finish the level). Mario also chains up Donkey Kong Sr. (Kranky Kong in DKC & DK 64) and DK Jr. Is forced to save his father. In Mario Tennis, if Luigi beats him, the trophy is awarded to Luigi and Mario steps on his brother’s foot and grinds it into the ground, as Luigi has a pained look on his face.
