I think alot about how benson’s decision was the perfect awful mix of so practiced, so perfectly rehearsed, up until the moment they actually get out the door, how wholeheartedly lost he seems afterwards, he’s like a dog whose broken out through a fence, blinded by the thought of escape who winds up inevitably only really circling the same streets its used to. kills me in my heart of hearts everyday obviously etc.

but I also think about how much time they had to clean up afterwards, how long it would’ve realistically taken, given the very immodest scale. just the both of them silently getting on with it together in a twisted parody of the only way they’ve ever been.

anyway where i’m going with this is, passenger au where benson doesn’t plan on getting caught. passenger au where it is painstakingly deliberate, where he makes it look like an accident and where he makes randy implicate himself until it’s a crime that’s equally theirs. they lie to the cops and its written off as another blameless small-town tragedy, and the whole deliberate violent truth of it is like a gift solely for randy.
