the doctor discovers that men are an option (just hadn’t thought about it before) and tuvok is the only guy onboard that doesn’t actively irk him. installs a homosexuality mod and sees where it takes him. tuvok grapples with the ethics of whether or not this counts as cheating since technically he did establish that one time that holograms are game in dire circumstances

I imagine that they are severely limited. Can't decide if they would be able to work wirelessly but I imagine a very small range. And they are also pretty easy to obtain and fix, so you can have one that lasts for years, possibly decades, because they've been standardized and they're built to be fixed and fixed again.

PADDs also seem to represent a sort of convergent evolution, where they replace a lot of different things, such as books, personal computers, fax machines, word processors, calculators, etc, but all end up looking basically the same, because that’s the ideal/most efficient way for them to be used in star trek’s daily life. the fact that they’re all the same technology is sort of a coincidence, because they perform different functions, and likely became so similar gradually over time
