Welcome to the Worfriker Gift Exchange 2026! This is a small event to celebrate fellow fans of the pairing Worf/Riker from the Star Trek universe.
Each participant will gift a fanwork to another and receive a gift in return. Your gift can be any type of fanwork!

P A R T I C I P A T I O N
To participate, you need a tumblr account and/or an AO3 account. (Please do not change your username(s) for the duration of the event.)
Fill out this sign-up form with your personal wishlist as well as your DoNotWant lists.
Please make sure that your tumblr DMs are open so that I can send you your mission details.
If you are unsure about your gifteeβs wishlist or simply want to say hello, feel free to anonymously message them. This is supposed to be an anynomous event until gifts are posted.

M A I N R U L E S
You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
You must treat your gifteeβs wishlist as the basis for their gift.
Do not use AI to create your gift. This is a strictly non AI event.
Your gift must be previously unposted / unpublished. The spirit of the event is to create something specifically for a fellow fan.
It is forbidden gift someone smut, graphic depictions of violence, or other content in this vein unpromptedly.
No bullying or hate over someoneβs prompts or gift. This is an all-inclusive fan event with a βdonβt like, donβt readβ mentality. All headcanons and genres are welcome!

September 1: Sign-ups close
September 6: You receive your gift mission details: wishlist + DNWs of your giftee
November 21-22: Gifts dropping! You can post them to tumblr and/or the AO3 collection. Please do not forget to tag your giftee as well as @rikerxworf β‘
If you cannot complete your gift in time, please message your giftee anonymously to inform them theyβll receive their gift a bit later! This is common courtesy.
If you cannot complete your gift at all, please back out timely with a message to me so that I can find a replacement or pinch-hitter.

W I S H L I S T S
Wishlists can be as long or short as you like. But not everything from your wishlist has to be / will be included in your final gift.
You can give your gifter several options / prompts / genres / side characters etc. to choose from. Try to be clear with your wording.
Same goes for your DoNotWant lists: try to be as clear as possible. You will be able to give DNWs both for creating and receiving gifts.
None of this is tied to one specific medium, as all types of fanwork are encouraged in this event. Because of that, please do not fill your wishlist with specific forms of fanwork, for example βI want a gif setβ. Any such specifications will be deleted before relaying your wishlist.

Q U E S T I O N S
What kind of fanwork can I create? You can create anything, as long as it includes Worfriker and something from your gifteeβs wishlist. This includes but is not limited to: fan fiction, fan art, edits, collages, photography, videos, playlists, recipes... Also, feel free to combine different media, for example a moodboard that comes with a playlist etc.
What is the upper and lower limit for fic, art etc.? There is no upper or lower limitation / wordcount for your work. Simply make sure to create something that will make your giftee happy, with your best effort!
Can I gift something AI generated? No.
Are 18+ works allowed? Yes, as long as your giftee wished for it. Do not send them unprompted smut or graphic depictions of violence. If your giftee did wish for those things and you do post them, remember to tag them accordingly.
Will the person I create a gift for also be my gifter? No. I will try and match participants across the board and not put them in pairs, so that the exchange is not between two people.
Do I have to use every single prompt of my gifteeβs wishlist when creating their gift? No. That said, if you feel like you can combine several prompts from their list, go for it!
What if I canβt create anything from the list you sent me? In that case, you can anonymously message your giftee to ask for clarification and/or alternatives. If that does not work either, get back to me and we will figure something out.
How specific must my wishlist be? Your wishlist can be as vague or as specific as you want (preferably a good mix of both). While vague prompts or simple genres may leave your gifter more leeway for their creation, a more specific wish might give them a better idea of what you like. That said, please keep an open mind: Your gifter probably wonβt implement an idea 100% in the exact same way you envisioned it yourself. Thatβs the beauty of art!
Can I wish for something other than romance? Yes, of course! How about some pre-slash or queerplatonic Worfriker? Or some aro/ace spectrum headcanon you would like to explore? Anything goes!
Can I include [prompt] in my wishlist? Yes, you can! This event does not forbid dark content, dubcon, character death etc. All headcanons and prompts are welcome. I will match your gifter accordingly!
Can I include Troi / Dax / Klag / other romantic characters in my wishlist? Yes! While this event centers Worf and Riker, any OT3 or poly ship constellations that feature them are allowed as well.
