Have A Little Faith To Fall Back On

I had to say goodbye to my best friend today. For the past 12 years, Riley has always been there for me. He was there when I felt like I didn't have anyone else, he was always the best listener, and he was the best at comforting me when I was upset. He knew how to make me laugh, no matter what kind of mood I was in. Even two days ago, when he could hardly get around, he did something to make me laugh.  If I was in a good mood, he was there to be goofy with me.  If I was upset, he would lay by me until I felt better. Even though it was tough, I knew that I had to be there for him at the end just like he was there for me over these past 12 years.  I'll never forget seeing him for the first time at my grandparents' house and having to convince my parents to let us keep him.  He'll always be my boy, and I will admit that I probably spoiled him more than I should, but I don't regret it at all. I mean, I slept on the floor with him for the past five days so he wouldn't have to sleep alone. I'm definitely going to miss him, but at least I know he’s not in pain anymore.  I love and miss my baby boy <3
