Tranformers OC: Playback
-Faction: Autobot
-Role: Communications Specialist / Memory Archivist
-Alt mode: A Cybertronian Holorecorder, TV with VHS (Earth Mode, think like a Panasonic AG-500)
-Appearance: Honestly I’m still figuring out his looks. What is set is; his height and build is comparable to Soundwave/Blaster (IDW continuity) and he has a screen visor that comes down that’s similar to Soundwave’s from TFP.
Personality
Playback is a more reserved bot, often watching things from a distance. Think the video to Blaster’s audio. He keeps things close to the chest and is wary to trust anyone due to what he’s seen happen on both sides of the conflict. His burning desire to share the whole truth even if it’s bad, often has him butting heads with Prowl, who wants nothing bad tied back to the Autobots, even if means hiding the whole truth.
His minicons (Cassette Partners):
-Trackback – He helps sort through and fix fragmented or deleted records and videos.
-Staticscreech (WIP name) –An owl that generates white noise fields and vocal mimicry.
-Channelblur/Overlay-has the ability to create holographic duplicates similar to Mirage. They love pranks and to create confusion
-Fenryx- (Think Ravage but a wolf). Deeply loyal and protective. Excels at recon and surveillance, is often seen near Playback like a guard dog.
Brief Background
Playback once worked at the Iaconian Newsfeed Service with Blaster as an offscreen journalist. One day he discovered footage of shady Senate dealings and brought it to his superiors who told him to bury it. He refused to let it go, even when Prowl was sent by Sentinel Prime to shut him down. This only fueled Playback more, as he released the footage and went underground to avoid being arrested.
When the Decepticons began to gain power and influence, he helped Blaster create the Nexis, a pirate news broadcast that didn’t hide the truth. Eventually the war kicked into full gear and Playback, while hesitant to pick a side, was persuaded by Blaster to join the Autobots, much to the chagrin of Prowl.
Trivia
• Has been caught watching old Earth soap operas
• Refuses uplink to any central Autobot network because he worries about Prowl hacking into his files.
•Landed on Earth in the 80’s separate from the Arc. Deeply fascinated at the intelligence war that was the Cold War.

Notes: I tend to pull a lot from IDW for my Transformer characters as I really enjoy the comics. Also yes, I am aware there is a G1 bot and I think a minicon of the same name but there is very little information on them and I like the name so yoink it’s mine now.
