It blows my mind how someone could say they are not proud of some of what they are mixed with. "I'm half white and black and Im not proud of the white part of me because they were racist and owned slaves"....um okay, is that you? There are a lot of bad people in the world whether theyre white, black, asian,hispanic ect. That doesnt mean that the entire race/ethnic group should be classified as bad people. Be proud of who you are.

Last night I watched Selma. It was one of the hardest films I have ever watched. But it is because it was so true. And the fact that everything I was watching had actually happened in the past, made it even harder to watch. The film really makes you think about all the hardships African-Americans had to endure. I can only imagine how Martin Luther King Jr. would feel if he could see that the President of the United States was African American. Still to this day we have racial problems in America, eerily similar to those during the Civil Rights movement. But in the end WE SHALL OVERCOME.
