Rowan, in your glorious fluffy ATEEZ story Rest, Relaxation & Rejuvenation you gave all but the measurements for the amazing sounding homemade hot cocoa. I could probably fiddle and get it close enough but I thought I'd ask if it was a real recipe and if you share it.
Ingredients
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 cups whole milk
(OR 3 cups milk and 1 cup heavy cream to make it richer)
1/2 cup of chocolate chunks, either semisweet or bittersweet
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Whisk together the sugar and cocoa powder. Continue whisking while adding the milk and vanilla.
Set over a medium heat and let it reach a light boil while stirring constantly. Add the chocolate chunks as you stir. I like to add them in one by one so I can make sure each piece is fully melted and mixed in.
Set the mixture aside until it's just cool enough to drink, then serve it with your favorite toppings.
Toppings
this section is completely optional and up to your personal tastes. you can add as many or little as you like, or experiment with toppings not listed. but i've starred the ones that are mentioned in the fic~

Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow. This was an experience, Rowan. The chocolate chunks absolutely make this recipe and I am completely sold on doing it your way from now on unless camping, and even maybe then too because it is so good.
Having made cocoa mix in a warming milk frother before, I decided to quarter the recipe and make a single serving that way, then a second batch after my husband showed interest. Bill's crushed peppermint and whipped cream version got two thumbs up. It was very easy and I am glad I got a photo for a visual reminder of the ingredients and amounts.
A single one cup serving of Rowan's decadent hot cocoa recipe above gets quartered down to the following listed in the order I put them in the milk frother:
two drops vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk (OR 3/4 cups milk and 1/4 cup heavy cream to make it richer)
1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons of chocolate chunks, either semisweet or bittersweet
The chunks went in halfway through after the frother's clear lid fogged up with steam and melted perfectly without clogging the whisk in the base. I'm diabetic T2 and skipped the sugar in the batch I drank and found my dark chocolate chunks, milk, and unsweetened whipping cream made it perfectly sweet for my taste. Rowan's recipe is dreamy and I encourage anybody to try it in a pan or milk frother, whatever you have on hand.
paring down recipes is always difficult for me, so if any of y'all have the same struggle and wanna make a single serving of my hot chocolate recipe, cousin Elizabeth's got ya covered~
