What you need to understand about me- and what most of you all do understand about me, is that I will be aggressively enabling of living your weirdest, fullest truth, and I think it's bullshit that people act like it's detrimental to you to do so
I don't give a shit if me being a weird furry online loses me any job prospects or if people talk or whatever- maybe it's fucked up that we hold something as minor and meaningless as that over someone's head, that we give it weight it doesn't deserve, you ever thought of that? Maybe I see the culture of belittling a person as "cringe" for having interests counter to the norms as a failure of society, and I'm gonna throw myself onto the damn pyre and fight to my last breath against it, ever considered that?
I'm not just being cute and funny when I say "live your truth no matter how weird it is," because you know what?
If you're not hurting anyone in a real and tangible way, if you're respecting the rights and comfort of others, nobody- NOBODY has the moral grounds to stand against you, and to hell with them if they try.
That's my spiel.
I am grabbing every "normal" artist on this site, I am grabbing anyone with furry leanings and a hint of reach, I am grabbing everyone who is afraid of being judged for what they enjoy, and find that fear holding them back, I am holding you, dear reader, and I am looking all of you in the eyes, I am baring my soul-
Please get weirder. Please stop being afraid of being your truest self for the sake of judgemental dorks online.
it's beautiful over here, where I am. Join me. Join me in a world free of false shame, a world where you don't have to hide what you are. It's better, I promise you.
It's not just YOUR joy, either.
What you put into the world as a weirder, louder, more interesting person also enriches the people who read your work, see your art, take inspiration from your style or your courage, and from them it also enriches the people who reap THEIR increased and improved output.
More joyous weirdness makes the world a brighter place for everyone in it.
Spectrum
An ATEEZ fanfic by AbsentCaryatid
You and Jongho are building Spectrum, a queer-inclusive salon and spa designed to make all people feel welcome. It will take seven other well-chosen staff members to complete the team for this important job.
7.6K words, Content note: gender neutral and autistic reader, no pronouns used for reader, innuendo present but safe for all Tumblr using ages, nonjudgmental mention of foot fetishists, fat people, disabled people, prostitutes, and homeless people, a reference to a death, mention of mastectomy, a mugger, and polyamory, embarrassing situation, food
This story has benefitted greatly from the encouragement and beta reading support of @sorikkung. Their masterlist is available here for more stories celebrating queer life.
~
You woke to the soothing voice of Jongho. “Good morning, love.”
Eyes wide, you turned to him and asked, “What are you doing here?” Taking note of his bare shoulders, you made a quick peek under the covers to verify your own pajamas were present. In doing so, you unintentionally learned your bed partner’s underwear preference and heat rose in your cheeks. “Last night, we didn’t, um, did we?”
Jongho sighed dramatically. “Alas, no. Not yet. But we will someday.” He smirked, “You know, we do have time before the plumber arrives, we could always….” The arch of his eyebrow completed the thought.
You knew that ‘someday’ was coming soon, but not here yet. At this point about the only thing holding you back from making him more than your business partner was how smug Jongho was in the certainty you would become a couple. Well, that and how busy you both were preparing the new business to launch.
It's scary to be transgender in the world right now but if you're transgender I love you and we have to stick together and keep fighting and keep living and keep loving

"I think one thing a lot of people - even many gender-savvy folks or fellow trans people - sometimes forget is that there are a lot of components to gender and that knowing someone’s gender identity doesn’t provide much information about what their gender expression or presentation will be. Plenty of people, whether cisgender or transgender, have gender identities and expressions that don’t fit neatly into a rigid and binary system of gender norms."

In a different era of Russian fandom, Zhenya volunteered as a Ficbook moderator. She emphasized how different things used to be before the crackdowns in her own country. “When I was a Ficbook mod, I was a teen,” she said. “There weren't any threats of censorship in sight; media and people were so much more free to do whatever they wanted: nobody translated gay couples into cousins, Verka Serduchka (an amazing drag queen) was very much one of the most popular artists among both kids and adults, the process to transition was so much easier than in most places around the world, and at some point I actually thought we were moving towards allowing gay marriage.” These days, she worries that even posting to sites hosted externally might be criminalized—that, for example, “people who pay Ficbook to promote their fics are putting themselves at risk.”
In our latest, @bookshop reports on growing creative censorship—and criminalization—around the world, from Australia to China to the U.S.
In Russia, a writer was recently sentenced to 18 months of forced labor for writing Stray Kids fanfiction. In this piece, Aja talks to Russian fans about the current climate of fear for many fans there.

If you're a book reader and a fan of your local library, you should join in their summer reading challenge if it's open to adults - most are.
Not only do you have the opportunity to win prizes for reading, which you are going to do anyway, it helps libraries when they're seeking funding when they can show a high level of engagement with their programming. It demonstrates that the library is an important community resource.
Have fun and help your local library!

Welcome to Scarleteen: Grounded, non-judgmental, and genuinely centered on inclusive pleasure
At Scarleteen we’re focused on making pleasure accessible for all, especially for queer folks who are tired of either getting zero sex ed info, or getting info that assumes everyone’s straight, cis, and/or having one very specific kind of sex. Our work also centers community voices, not outsiders telling people what to do.
A lot of sex ed out there skips over queer pleasure and queer dynamics, and dodges the real questions folks have like, how to navigate dysphoria, or thinking about how to have safer sex in ways that go beyond “use condoms.” All of our sex ed is written with queer people in mind, but some of our articles and advice columns dive more deeply into concerns our LGBTQIA+ visitors ask us about—although they’re out here for everyone to read, whether questioning, supporting a partner or friend, or just curious to learn more.
If you want queer sex ed that’s grounded, non-judgy, and actually pleasure-forward, welcome :)
We’ve pulled together a bunch of our best resources on pleasurable queer sex, including safer sex guides, toy guides, and pieces focused on comfort, communication, connecting with partners, and feeling good in the body during sex, not just “doing it right.”
We’ve got everything from the practical basics on safer sex to how to enrich your relationship with your partners. We talk about all the stuff that makes sex mutually enjoyable and pleasurable, like checking in with your partner during, welcoming in varied experiences, and experimenting to find what feels right for you during partnered and solo sex. Scarleteen also covers topics like exploring polyamory or sexual pleasure for QTBIPOC youth, written by and for members of these communities. Here’s seven of our favorites just for you:
