Sometimes while you are trying to take a walk in the woods to relax from your PhD, you find a mysterious slime and decide you are gonna solve the decades long mystery of "Star Jelly." Because, you know, you have so much free time.

I used this to rope in our resident mycology curator and he is blasting out emails to a bunch of other mycologists. I will extract DNA for sequencing for next week, but based on the morphology, we are leaning towards either Myxarium or Exidia that got really hydrated, froze, and basically exploded!
