There's something so narratively satisfying about Olruggio's best known contraption being the same one that made Coco fall in love with magic.
Because that's what he does. He made the link rings to keep people dry. He makes things that are meant to bring joy and comfort to people. It's his whole thing. He will go well out of his way to ease people's burdens whenever and wherever he can. He's constantly thinking through every contraption he makes in great detail.
And there's something about him seeing on a personal level how someone can connect to what he refers to as 'what he's best known for' and also 'a simple spell'. Going so far as to say it's nothing to be impressed by.
Idk where I was really going with this. But I was rereading that bit in the manga and it just gets me every time.
His magic is focused on warmth and comfort! Heβs constantly depicted as dozing off! In shirahamaβs modern aus heβs always snug and cozy! And then the one thing Qifrey canβt have but yearns for is comfort!
