You ever think about many peices of media have zero women and thats just perfectly normal but if a peice of media has an all female cast people get... like that? Women should be allowed to kill over this btw
same but it's black people
That's right
You listen to music regularly? Why? Have you even tried quitting? Could you quit? You get music stuck in your head? Wow. You're so ruined and music brained. I bet you make your partners listen to music with you when you have sex. Music addiction has really ruined a whole generation. You know it's not realistic to expect reverb in real life, right? You're probably so desensitized that you don't even feel anything anymore when you hear a bird singing that it wants some fuck.
I don't have a problem with people listening to music per se, but I do have a problem with the music industry exploiting & mistreating artists.
Personally, I abstain from all music in order to keep my hands clean but really music should just be illegal outright to protect musicians from abuse.
holy shit this person in the notes
it would be so awesome
it would be so cool

happy fourth of july to the philippines ONLY
link to article
hi, filipino here. just want to say that our independence day is june 12, not july 4. july 4 is when the united states government decided that they would recognize our freedom, specifically because it is your independence day and they wanted to cement their cultural hegemony over our country. and because of their influence on our country this was recognized for a time as our independence day. we still commemorate it, but i hope you can understand why we donât want our independence day to be associated so closely with our former colonizer. it wasnât even a work holiday for us.
june 12 is the day that we filipinos declared our own independence for ourselves, and that is what we celebrate as independence day
happy june 12 to you

graffiti discourse is so stupid why the hell would I give a shit if people spraypaint their names or do some cool paintings under a bridge
sorry didn't realize the bridge has to be plain beige concrete. that was a load bearing plain beige concrete if anyone tags it the whole bridge collapses
twenty years ago, the tv show supernatural was created. this has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

The funniest part of A New Hope is that Luke Skywalker is a 19 year old who has not locked in yet and plays with toys and sleeps in his childhood bedroom at his aunt and uncleâs house and Leia Organa is a 19 year old with a mission to save the galaxy from fascism. Luke has never left his hometown, Leia just watched her planet be blown up. Heâs peeved his uncle is asking him to do his chores, sheâs imprisoned for resisting the government. You relate to them both but theyâre on complete opposite sides of the 19 year old life stage spectrum.
Also Luke is clearly very lonely after his crush and best friend, Biggs, went away to college
Yes! Some people have misinterpreted this as me insinuating Luke is a wimp but heâs just in a very transitional life phase that is focused on growing and maturing. His friends are growing up and moving on, heâs anxious to join them but isnât quite ready. He has ambition and goals but he just isnât in a place where he is able to pursue those goals, he is immature and that isnât a bad thing. 19 year olds SHOULD be able to ponder their place in the world and which direction they want their life to take. Leia has been in the public eye her entire life, she is a princess, she has been primed for greatness and she has been shouldered with so much responsibility. Luke is just his aunt and uncleâs nephew, they love him and donât want him to leave, heâs trying to decide what to do.
Heâs like a Midwest farm boy who is dreaming of the big city and she is like an old money New England heiress who has been told since birth she will follow her fatherâs career path into politics and has been sent to the most competitive schools and enrolled in the most rigorous extracurriculars.
A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Letâs fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
Additional source and more details below. Absolutely thrilled to say that this is real. And yeah, it's huge.
For all the reasons above AND ALSO because this particular lawsuit is a defamation case
Privacy lawsuits are hard because most privacy laws are super super weak, and there's very rarely a lot of money or enforcement backing privacy laws for...twenty million reasons, really...
But defamation suits? Those have teeth.
(In large part because, at least in some countries and including in the US, defamation laws protect public figures the least - and "public figures" legally includes most if not all politicians, and a hell of a lot of other rich ppl too)
A Munich court ruled Google's AI Overviews are its own words, making it liable for false claims, a decision that, if it holds, could reach e
A German court has ruled that Google can be held directly liable for false claims made by its AI Overviews, a decision that could put a serious legal dent in the whole âthe AI made me do itâ defense. According to The Next Web, the Regional Court of Munich issued a temporary injunction after Googleâs AI Overviews wrongly tied two Munich publishers to scams, subscription traps, and dubious business practices. The court treated those AI-generated summaries as Googleâs own statements, not just ordinary search results pointing to third-party pages. That distinction matters. Search engines have traditionally had more protection because they index and link to other peopleâs content. AI Overviews changes the machinery. Google is not just showing the web anymore. It is summarizing it, rewriting it, and sometimes apparently hallucinating a tiny legal grenade into the results page.

the way feminism just died in recent years is crazy. a whole like 20 steps back!!!

I am going to have a fucking stroke the fuck are you on about
Oh, yeah, let's compare overly elaborate skincare routines that women choose for themselves (albeit under the influence of advertising that, in aggregate, has a very negative effect on perception of women and their bodies) and pay for with their own money with the fucking tradwives who actively promote submitting yourself to a sexist man. Surely spending way too much on skincare is the same thing as devoting your entire life to an extremely unequal relationship and actively eshewing all forms of independence, financial, social or emotional.
We owe so many apologies to choice feminism holy fuck
-Sincerely, a fat hairy queer you claim to speak for
Youâre not reading closely - it is root and branch and pipeline. Choice Feminism, of which I am a personal advocate, only works if youâre making an INFORMED choice, if you know WHY youâre doing what youâre doing and what the ramifications of your decisions are. Choice Feminism requires constant critical thinking and a lot of people arenât doing it.
These skincare routines, the ones that the OP is referencing specifically, the ones that are eight steps a session and want you to use red light therapy and dermal fillers and microneedling - why are you doing this for yourself? Okay, it makes you feel good. Why? Is it that you are taking the time to care for yourself because youâre lacking care in another are of your life? Itâs anti-aging; okay. Are you using anti aging products for a health reason, because you have a family history of skin issues, or because you fear aging? If you fear aging, then why do you fear it? If itâs for your self-image, why are you comparing yourself to others?
Yeah, itâs a lot, asking why why why why like a toddler. Itâs soooooo much easier to sit back and not be critical and just go âit makes me feel goodâ and let someone else do the thinking for you.
And thatâs the pipeline, right there; if you outsource your critical thinking skills, you outsource your agency.

Hollywood has gone backwards in size inclusivity too. Seeing all these emaciated women crying in interviews because theyâre malnourished on Ozempic and loosing their ability to regulate their emotions is so hard. It reminds me of all those stories about Judy garland living on coffee, bone broth, cigarettes, and diet pills while they were filming Wizard of Oz.
I think back to all the old misogynistic stereotypes about women being week and over-emotional and wonder how many of our great-grandmothers were starving themselves to try and keep their husbands from straying because there was no life outside of marriage and their reputation and wellbeing was dependent on their attractiveness.
do you guys remember when we googled something and we would get results that were actually related to the things we searched

Hereâs drilâs candles on a graph for reference.
Itâs easy to look at these and assume âwell, high crime cities need more police,â but i think thatâs putting the cart before the horse.
Police make crime worse.
Police take fiscal oxygen out of the room, away from actual social support programs. The money spent on policing could go to housing, nutritional services, healthcare, civil rights, building inspections, labor rights enforcement, street maintenance, public transportation. But it goes to paying guys to sit around idling Ford Explorers all day and hitting poor people with sticks.
Crime follows poverty in absolutely every single case. Every single âhigh crime cityâ is because of the fucking poverty.
This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.
This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).
Combine this with the mass of people inclined to believe (and being encouraged to believe) that if AI says and does something it must be correct
