This is my fave Noel fielding story ever in the world
I donât even know who this is but heâs fabulous
[ID: Series of gifs of Noel Fielding on a late night show recounting a story. Noel is a white man with dark hair cut in a straight shag with bangs. He is wearing black eyeliner and a big red fluffy coat over a blue stripe t-shirt. The story is as follows. âOn tour, I disappeared for two days and when they found me I was working in a vintage clothes store. Basically, I got wasted in a group of people and this girl said, âIâve got to open a shop at nine in the morning.â We said âWeâll all come with you.â and one by one, everyone sort of peeled off and it was just me and this girl. So we opened the shop and she passed out on the floor. I didnât know what to do so I just started working in the shop. I had to move her behind the desk because it looked like I murdered her. I sold a bag and two ponchos. I did quite well. I wanted to stay there forever, but then our tour bus turned up. The tour manager went, âWhere have you been?!?!â ⌠Working in a shop, obviously.â End ID]
he IMMEDIATELY went ride or die for that girl

whoâs left- Mariame/Prison Abolition
by Flynn Nicholls
[image description: a comic titled âWhoâs Left: Prison Abolition.â It opens with a black woman wearing glasses, beaded earrings and a headscarf. She says, âIâm Mariame Kaba, director of Project NIA and prison abolitionist.â Someone off screen asks, âis prison abolition a hard thing to explain to people?â Mariame says, âI get the same questions. âWhat about bad people? What about rapists?â I donât answer those questions anymore.â
Next panel is of an ominous city skyline, split diagonally into a street scene where a white businessman is looking terrified among people of color moving about their lives. Text reads: âThese are posed as questions about safety but are mostly based in fear of the other. Safety for whom? And from what?â Next panel says, âIt doesnât make sense to answer because there are bad people who have not been incarcerated.â Thereâs a closeup of a corner of a newspaper, showing a smiling man with the text: âdog murderer net worth $1.5 million, cleared on all charges.â
Next panel shows blue silhouettes of police and cameras and Mariameâs text says, âIâd rather talk about having justice without police or surveillance.â Next panel shows Mariame being asked, âWhy abolition? Why not reform?â and she replies, âThe prison system is harmful!â Her words appear over stylized prison bars: âthere is rampant violence, rape and deaths in custody.â On a panel of a whip with an arrow pointing to a prison, she says, âthe prison itself was a reform of corporal punishment.â Next panel shows a couple Quakers looking anxious outside a prison and says, âWhen prisons first came into use in the late 1700s, Quakers pushed for reform. Why continue centuries of rounds of unsuccessful reforms?â
Next panel says: âSo we have to create the conditions that decrease the demand for police and surveillance. You need jobs, healthcare, housing, people need to be able to live their lives.â Beneath that, three cranes with heavy chains are lowering a hospital and a home, and lifting away a prison with cracked walls as someone watches. âYou need to create structures to address harm and hold people accountable. People think abolitionists minimize harm but we take it very seriously.â Beneath that, eight people are drawn, four sitting atop the othersâs shoulders and holding hands above their heads to form a bridge. Underneath that it says, âSafety is a collective action.â
Next panel says: âA lot of people think abolitionists want to close prisons tomorrow when we didnât get there yesterday. Ruthie Gilmore says, âAbolition is about presence, not absence. Itâs about building life-affirming institutions.ââ On the left side of this panel, thereâs a person trying to flip a switch on the side of a prison. The switch is labeled âPrison industrial complexâ and is flipped to âon.â On the other side is a drawing of Ruth Gilmore. Next panel is a white spiderweb on a black background with a pink prison in the center, and text around the web reads: âThe prison system sits at the intersection of multiple forms of oppression and facets of society, and when you map it out, weâre all in that web.â
Next panel shows Mariame smiling and holding a clipboard, saying, âI am the director of Project NIA, an organization focused on ending youth incarceration. I also work with Survived + Punished, a project dedicated to the release of survivors of domestic + gendered violence imprisoned for survival actions. Survived and Punishedâs Free Bresha campaign successfully managed to keep Bresha Meadows in the juvenile system rather than being tried and sentenced as an adult, and transferred to a mental health facility before finally being released, avoiding a 25 to life sentence.â Beside that is Bresha Meadows, a teenager with a somber expression. A caption in front of her reads: âBresha Meadows was arrested at 14 for fatally shooting her abusive father in self-defense.â
Next panel shows a complex web of prison walls, topped with barbed wire, separating individuals from each other. The text reads:Â âSome people ask how feasible abolition is. Security is about putting up gates and walls and weapons between you and other people. How feasible is it to continue a violent system? For people to live in fear?â Next panel zooms in on one of the people within the web, and reads:Â âThe prison system is a recent development and not as permanent as people think.â The wall in front of the person is knocked down by a person behind it, revealed to be a cardboard cut-out.Â
The next panel shows similar cranes as before lifting all the cardboard prison walls, and reads:Â âI donât know what a world without prisons will look like.â The last panel shows a line of people of different body types, abilities and ethnicities, most looking upward at text that reads:Â âBut it will fundamentally transform our relationship with other people.â]
im a practicing agnostic every day i look up at the sky and shrug
Keying/graffiti-ing someones car is old news now if someone cheats we go at their wardrobe with a seam ripper
yknow what? Fuck you *unstitches all your shirts and jeans*
My mother did this to my father once. They got into an argument, my very pregnant and hormonal mother stormed offâŚexcept they lived in a tiny apartment so the only place to go was to shut herself into the closet for a good long sulk. And while she was sitting in there, fuming, she looked up and saw her sewing kit on the shelf, and all my fatherâs uniforms hanging right there.
So she picked one shirt and one pair of trousers, carefully, methodically ripped every third stitch out of every seam, and then hung them back up together so that he would be likely to pick them at the same time. This took her a couple hours, so by the time she was done, the anger had worn down. She came out, she and my father had a talk that ended in apologies, after which they were tired and went to bed. My mother swears up and down that she meant to warn my father about the sabotaged clothes in the morning, but he wore a different uniform set and they were both still feeling a little raw, so she didnât want to bring up the fight again. She decided to tell him that night instead.
And then she forgot.
Anyway, about four days later, my father apparently came home roughly an hour after he left for work, his clothes slowly, gently shredding off his body, the most bewildered expression on his face. âPaula,â he said, his voice mildly shell-shocked. âPaula, my clothes are broken.â
My mother promptly burst out laughing so hard that she went into labor. And thatâs the story of my birth, heralded by petty vengeance and utter confusion.

sitcom about living with a wizard
roommage
is the wizard gay
is water wet
its oh so quiet, shh!
i love how sam was like. literally introduced as one of the most kind hearted and empathetic characters in the mcu. but anytime he sees bucky it activates a switch in his mind thatâs like i HAVE to annoy the fuck out of this man on purpose or i will die. it is imperative i be a nuisance to him whenever possible.
other shows would have had amy running around like a bridezilla because sheâs so detail-oriented AND would have had jake quickly making the easiest choices because wedding planning isnât his thing but NOPE, not brooklyn nine nine. instead, amy acts like a badass bitch with rosa and jake canât bring himself to make a decision that might disappoint the love of his life
I LOVE that they didnât make Amy a bridezilla. And the fact that Jake ONLY had to do it alone because Amy was being a badass and they couldnât do it together.Â
Often, weâre shown grooms not caring about the wedding or any details and pushing everything off to their stressed brides. But not B99. Jake cares so much and not only accepts the binder, but loves Amy for having it. Heâs legit excited about the cascading sex tabs in the honeymoon binder and spending the rest of his life with his soulmate. (His soulmate!)Â He set alarms to remind himself to stay on track! He recruited help because he knew he was overwhelmed and couldnât do it alone!Â
Heâs so worried about being a good husband because his father was such a terrible one that he finds the best husband he can think of in Terry to help. And they recruit Scully and Hitchcock to help with gift bags! Because those two are canonically good at minutiae and small details as they relate to food! And no one ever says, âI donât want to do this. This is women stuffâ but they work together to help their friend get ready for his wedding and make his fiancĂŠe happy. Â
Also lets talk about how Amy does not spend even a second worrying if Jake is gonna get everything done or if heâs gonna mess up. Two things about this: theyâve normalised the immense amount of trust these two put in each other and proven once more, that Jake and Amy really are the healthiest relationship on TV. And two, this episode is supposed to be about Rosa and Amy and their friendship, showing us that these two have as much of a history together as Charles and Jake or anyone else in the squad does (seriously the flashback scenes and the way Sergio smells being a running joke throughout the episode was amazing because thatâs what I do with MY friends and its good to be able to relate). This episode was beautifully done and the b99 crew has all my gratitude for that.
