So while I was getting my haircut, the lady asked me if I had other plans for the day and I said:
āIām just going to pick up the boy from daycare and then itās date night.ā
And the lady says āOh! How old is he?ā

The lady is now 6 minutes into a clearly needed rant about how unnecessarily complex shopping for schools is, esp when you have a neurodivergent child, so I canāt just tell her that Charlie is a dog because then sheāll feel awkward for unloading on me and she clearly has enough going on.
So the rest of the haircut became a game of āhow much can I say about Charlie without revealing that he is not a human child?ā And the answer is āenough to cover a half hour hair appointment, quite possibly several hours worth if Iām specific enoughā

Please consider writing for gender neutral, or even male readers, and readers of other genders. We exist, and it is very hard for us to find stories on this website.
If you only write for female readers: Please donāt just say that itās a ācharacter abc x readerā fic. It can easily misinterpreted as a story for gender neutral readers. Specify the gender of the reader on your fics, that shows some support as well.
Give blog recommendations of writers who write for readers of other genders as well. That helps a lot.
But most important: Show your support. Do not exclude readers who arenāt female.Ā

One thing I have not seen mentioned in light of this statement, perhaps because it's just well known or perhaps because it's been forgotten, is that Radcliffe has dealt with this before. About 10 years ago his friendship with a trans musician named Our Lady J became known to the tabloids. They immediately published sensational articles calling her a transvestite and a drag queen (she was not), and speculating about the nature of their relationship. He responded to insinuating questions by simply being aggressively positive about what a great musician and good friend she was. They did at least one interview together for a queer magazine. This at a time when trans people were even more marginalized than now, and when he as an actor was finishing Harry Potter and under a lot of pressure to ~manage his image~ as he transitioned to an adult career.
TL;DR - Radcliffe has a record of not just saying nice things, but supporting trans people in his life.
