Marinette stans always make it out as if Adrien didn't show up in 7 seperate episodes but the only episode where he's actively doing that is Kuro Neko and that episode did not take place without context. I HATE IT how Ephemeral is basically just written off in this fandom as non-existing episode just because Marinette's actions can't be excused easily or because it's a time loop.

Most of the episode takes place outside the time loop and Marinette's fucked up plan is 100% NOT hidden from Chat Noir in the end. Once the time anomalies happen she straight up makes NO effort in hiding from him that she is in direct communication with an transformed Sass and even leads CHAT right to Luka so they can talk to Sass about a time loop time-line he JUST undid!

Adrien KNOWS Ladybug did something here and that her asking to meet him was of innocent intention. She is NOT hiding it. He then remains professional until everything is solved and when they fly back to earth he asks her what she wanted to talk about, giving her a fair chance of explaining herself, and she just says nah, which bothered him (of course??) alot.

THIS lead into Kuro Neko.

Ephemeral did.

Adrien in Ephemeral honest to god couldn't attend the battle for once because his civilian life prevented him from going. He didn't choose to sit out, Chat Noir has a civilian life no matter if that's convenient for Ladybug or not. She called him who knows how many times but couldn't reach him and Adrien also seemingly only had time to finally transform and call her back hours later.

He immediately had the feeling he's in trouble but he still immediately called her back because that was the responsible thing to do. He tries to explain to her what happened but Ladybug isn't interested in his explanation and just asks to met him.

And that's the thing that pisses me off SO BADLY about all this. Marinette is giving 0 fucking shits about Chat's civilian life, what reasonings he has or if something else happened why he couldn't come. In Kuro Neko Adrien stays away for longer and Ladybug is treating his absence as if ShadowMoth has to ask for HER PERMISSION first to have found and gotten Chat Noir as civilian. Chat could have been dead in a gutter 17 times already and she just doesn't question his absence. "Chat was apologetic on the phone before I cut him off so that'll forever be the case now"

No? You're not benevolently giving him a break Marinette, he stopped showing up.

And he stopped showing up because he couldn't attend the battle in Ephemeral, she called him like 20 times but HE doesn't know that the reason why she set up the trap against him is because of Su-Han (and her own bullshit). All he knows is that he couldn't come, he already felt like he's in trouble when he saw her calls, she wasn't in anyway interested in WHY he couldn't come and once he met her he finds out he apparently WAS in trouble because she's painfully upfront with having lead him into a snake miraculous trap!

From his perspective he couldn't be there ONCE since "Mr pigeon 72" because of his civilian life and he was immediately treated like an obstacle and problem by her she needs to take care of.

And he's giving her the fair chance to explain herself at the end and she rather flies home in silence instead of explaining all she just directly showed him. And after THAT Adrien stays home where Ladybug also doesn't try contacting him again.

Meaning for him she only had patience for waiting and calling for him one time, then she immediately used another Miraculous (holder) against him but her plan apparently resulted in such horrible consequences that Sass had to use his powers and undo everything. Sass even EXPLAINS that be can only go back to second chance save states, meaning Chat Noir KNOWS that it was used by Luka right when Ladybug and he met. Luka who was in direct conversation with Ladybug. Marinette, you idiot! Why are you letting Chat Noir see and know all that and then refuse to give ANY fucking context when he gives you the chance for it??

Why tf was ADRIEN the one in the wrong here? I would have stayed tf home too if I'm immediately turned into a non-human obstacle that needs to be taken care of like an Akuma villain just because my life stopped me from joining the battle ONE time in how many weeks since Mr Pigeon 72.

She never even cared WHY he couldn't be there or if it'll be something that'll keep him away longer. Genuinely, no fucks given by her. The way the narrative treats it Marinette is approaching Chat's life and involvement in her leadership and guardianship in the way that he automatically feels sorry for having "caused trouble" but nothing of significance ever could possibly happen in his life or to HIM that would require for her to LISTEN to him.

Chat noir then afterwards not showing up for longer? Well, ShadowMoth didn't ask for her permission first so nothing could have happened to him. It's not like in last episode's time loop ShadowMoth DID find Chat Noir behind Marinette's back because he overheard his son at the ONE wrong moment and that's why Sass had to use his powers!

What is this bullshit? Why was ADRIEN blamed for this? Non of this was in anyway taken care of, just written off because it would have required more than nothing from Ladybug in terms of taking Chat Noir and his life and survival into concideration in her leadership and guardianship. But as season 4 kindly teached us, her allowing him to be part of her group is already basically charity work he should be grateful for.

And I'm supposed to be surprised that Chat Noir never made it into the final battle? When Adrien tells Plagg he can't ask Ladybug for help because only she is worthy of getting help or breaking her precious rules only HE has to strictly uphold anyway.

Of course Chat Noir, by all means, didn't made it out of this partnership and only returned in the new reality. It's a miracle he even made it THIS long

You actually hit on something I hadn't thought about, anon. Chat Noir seeing Ladybug in contact with Viperion for reasons unknown to him and her subsequently dismissing him when he asks her what's up would be reasonable grounds for him to understand that she pretty much doesn't need him anymore and that he's being left out of the loop that Luka is somehow allowed to be in. Maybe that's a reason for him not showing up in the next episode, especially since he's also seen that Ladybug doesn't really need him to defeat villains. Ephemeral even specifically focuses on his expression when Ladybug dismisses him, which is an odd choice unless they wanted us to pay attention to his reaction.

But you're absolutely right. Ephemeral had Adrien be unable to come to the battle because of his civilian life, and Ladybug managed just fine. People love to salt on Adrien for "leaving Ladybug high and dry," or "neglecting his duty and leaving her to face Shadow Moth alone," or some BS like that, when the reason he didn't show up is because she did have more people and didn't need him anymore, and he felt left out and neglected. And realizing that Ladybug had some plans going on in the background that she didn't want to let him in on would be enough reason for him to believe she doesn't want him anymore.

Yeah! Like, I get that Marinette is stressed and has a lot on her plate, but it is kind of her responsibility as the leader and Guardian of the Miraculous to ensure that they are protected. She has all these plans and resources and allies to call on in her time of need, and yet she doesn't seem to even consider that her partner might potentially face dangerous situations and that she should maybe consider his safety. Either she has to treat him like a partner and share information with him, or she has to be the leader and take steps to ensure his safety, because he is also Shadow Moth's target, and he wants Chat Noir's Miraculous too.

Like, she's the leader. It's her "job" to take decisions about this. She doesn't want to share important information with him, but she also doesn't want to take any sort of responsibility for his safety. She wants him to be content with staying out of the loop, but she also expects him to take care of himself without giving him the information he might need to do so. And like we see in Ephemeral, he got caught. When Marinette was caught, she called Luka and somehow managed to save the world, but Adrien had no such luck.

I don't like to be too harsh on Marinette for this, but I agree completely. Chat Noir's safety is so unimportant to her and isn't even a factor in her leadership. She just expects him to be okay as she hides more and more stuff from him. And I get that Marinette is under a lot of pressure and that she isn't the best at considering larger perspectives, but it's still bad leadership and it's still irresponsible. We literally saw that her secrets impede his ability to act, like in Hack-San, and that he is literally alone and has no one to turn to if he is in danger, like in Ephemeral. She just expects him to be around and keep being her faithful partner and never have any sort of issues or problems ever. She acts like she is his leader by hiding stuff from him and pretty much demoting him, but she also wants him to remain her partner who won't ask a thing of her or won't give her any new responsibilities and will just endlessly support her, even though that can't happen because their dynamic has changed.

This "little incident" is absolutely not going to revive some nightmares he had at the end of S5, right?

Like, she got her badass Bug Noire moment on Chat's expense in the s5 finale, can we now please get to the core of this? The problem has been obvious since Kuro Neko and it clearly ain't leaving. Marinette has never treated everyone equally and Adrien has been deceived ever since which is still screwing him over to this day.

Can we just get to it now? Marinette got her way, was rewarded for unfair mistreatment on a downright selfish scale because shes a poor meow meow who just needed to be put first cause "she has nothing", and Bug Noire was slay and the center of everything. Wasn't that the point of doing this in the first story arc? Can we move on now? Please? OTHERWISE THE PROBLEM AINT LEAVING! Its been 2 seasons and the consequences just continue growing!

I’ve seen those leaks and I have mixed thoughts.

Like, the writers are absolutely 100% convinced that Marinette is the one suffering the most in this situation, that’s why we focus on how bad she’s feeling all the time. I’m just not sure if they’d have her character go full mask-off with how self-centered she is in her self-caused suffering.

Another angle is that Adrien is waaaaayyyy too active in those leaks for it to be real. These writers would not allow Cat Noir to turn on Ladybug and attack her. That’s actual agency and having opinions that contradict Ladybug!

The only way I see this as an actual real script draft is if they’re writing a disposable timeline, since Miraculous characters always go way  off the rails with immortal behavior when the writers know it’s all going to be erased.

Or, this is a wilder theory, they’re planning to give Cat Noir an actual, honest-to-god villain arc, to distract us from how immoral Ladybug has been acting all season and make him out to be the bad guy in the situation.

Remember, I’ve noticed this before: Adrien is the only character in Miraculous whose actions have had negative consequences he’s had to repent for.

So, now after 2 episodes that pretty much confirmed that Aglaé is Cerise, let me finally make my speculation post of how we could be genuinely screwed after the ending of "El Toro del Piedra"

This regards both Marinette and Nathalie, but to 90% Nathalie (this isnt salt, I promise). So let me start with her:

it's once again her not doing anything to HELP the person she hurt if she can't fix it magically,

Its her waiting for the hurt person to fix the damage she caused on their own while either expecting them to take care of HER too, or else she'll take them "leaving her behind" (to get themselves medical attention) as her getting proof that their relationship/ bond is over. Marinette's go to instinct in situations like this is completely write off the relationship. She did it in Daddycop too and it's always for unwarranted and self-pittying reasons, while Adrien gets made fun of for being so "dramatic" that he ever comes to the conclusion that her acting like she doesn't care or doesn't want him around anymore is exactly THAT.

It's also yet another case of Marinette's wording being sus as hell the moment she voices her thoughts about her blame when she thinks the hurt party can't hear her. Just like it was honestly alarming and even disgusting in Kuro Neko that all Marinette cared about in her breakdown over Chat Noir was her GUARDIANSHIP (nothing friendship related or partners. Only her poor poor guardianship), it's now setting of alarm bells in my head that when Marinette thought Adrien couldn't hear her, all she said is that she's ASHAMED of her actions.

She wasn't emphasising how worried she is, in how much pain he might be in, how this will affect like already messed up life. It's all about her feeling of shame. The focus is still only on herself. She's feeling for herself, not for him. So she also didn't even consider getting Adrien help. Just like always. A person who always thinks every situation is only about how it makes HER feel won't ever get help for the person she hurt. It won't even cross her mind apparently.

Wait. People think Adrien is “the dramatic one” in the relationship when his competition is Marinette “can't function with even the slightest setback” Dupain-Cheng? That's funny and pathetic. Once again Adrien is being accused of stuff that actually applies to Marinette.

Also I think this might be the one way Marinette's character has changed. In the original seasons she would treat these situations as a problem to be solved. She still wouldn't comfort the hurt person but she would focus on how to fix the situation. Marinette's self pity has become her highest priority in any alarming situation instead of the situation itself. Of course, a big factor in that is that the sheer amount of times the one doing the original hurting is her has increased greatly since the original seasons.

Rewatching "Ladybug" is painful because both of them utterly failed their partner they tried to save there, but only GABRIEL ever actually made genuine efforts and treated his partner as an equal by giving her respect, agency, resources, care ect

Between Ladybug and Hawkmoth, LADYBUG has been the one to be given the villainous characterization as a partner and leader. I've never seen anyone make less of an effort and be as exploitative in a partnership as Ladybug since season 4. She never even tried to let him have anything or anyone in case he ever needed more than nothing to make it out of this war. All while she made her BFF her real partner and co-guardian behind his back just so she can go on lying to Chat Noir taht she has never had any support or resources just like him to make him settle for NOTHING while still taking care of her in ways she never reciprocates.

Neither Chat Noir nor Mayura made it into the final battle, but only ONE of them did so because of the risk to their life and health they themselves decided to take, fully informed and after they had to CONVINCE their leader to let them take this risk.

And that's Mayura.

Chat Noir in the other hand was disregarded, dehumanized, and sacrificed by Ladybug in every way possible because she simply didn't wanted to give anything, only take take take.

And yet the show has the audacity to now try to retcon what was consistently shown on-screen.

Now claiming that Nathalie was nothing but Gabriel's deceived and exploited victim and Ladybug is of course the most selfless and devoted partner who never did anything wrong and ended up alone in the final battle with no fault of her own. Its Gabriel's fault, the world's fault, or worst of all, Chat Noir's own fault for not having obeyed her orders of season 4 that he doesn't exist underneath the mask and has no right to ask of her even for 5 seconds to remember taht he doesn't just exist to her personal benefit. His real existence inconvenienced her in the season 5 finale, now he has to pay for it with guilt of his "failure" and worship of her greatness.

And let's top it off with the fact that in the season 5 finale, Gabriel actually ended up giving up his chance to continue living to instead give it to Nathalie, all while Marinette unknowingly was one word away from killing Chat Noir with his own Miraculous (by cataclysming Adrien's rings on Gabriel's hand) because she never could be bothered to give a fuck about what the war she was "fighting" was truly about, nor did she ever care to give a fuck about the boy underneath Chat's mask. Congratulations, no shit Adrichat barely made it out of this alive and Marinette is now down with risking to kill Adrien for her convenience in Werepapas. That's all she ever did since s4.

Gabriel at least saved the partner he failed. Marinette almost killed Adrichat due to her inconsideration and carelessness for anything but what affects HER. And the person who saved Adrichat from that was GABRIEL. Not Maribug. HE had to deescalate HER while her cataclysm hand was on Adrien's rings and HE willingly gave up the amok rings before wishing himself out of existence to not take the them with him. She never bothered to learn anything about this war, so she as always would have utterly failed the person that needed her the most. What a hero. She never ever cared.

GABRIEL did all the actual saving. Marinette is just once again taking all the credit.

Before season 4, I considered the Hawkyura team up the less equal Ladynoir, but, like, I think that was because that's how the trope usually goes, that when the villain and hero teams are this similar in terms of dynamics, the villains are somehow toxic about it. But it really just seems like the Miraculous writers can only write one type of partnership where one party makes all the decisions while the other makes all the sacrifices. But, yeah, as you said, at least Mayura gets to make those sacrifices while being fully aware of all the same information as the other party.

Something I’ve been thinking about recently regarding Marinette and her similarities to Gabriel, in the episode Jubilation (I believe) where Ladybug and Chat Noir get married and have all those creepy doll babies in the gift illusion. Ladybug leaves the baby with Chat Noir to save the day. Clearly she’s still a full-time superhero/team leader and Guardian, considering she still has her memories. She’s also likely either running her own fashion house or working her way towards that, considering that’s what she actually wants to be doing. She’s not going to compromise on her dream.

However something has to give. She’s got three full time jobs (Assuming being the Guardian requires her to do more than she would as team leader. Even if it doesn’t, two full time jobs is still a lot.) as well as a new baby at home. Unless Marinette undergoes some major growth she won’t give up control of the team. She can’t give up Guardianship without losing her memories. And as I already said, she’d never give up the thing she’s always wanted. So that leaves one thing, her family. She’s going to put them last the same way Gabriel did. She already treats Adrien more like a prize than a boyfriend and I don’t see that changing when they get married.

It’s not a stretch to believe that Marinette would be too busy to really develop a bond with her children and end up like a nice Audrey. Not deliberately mistreating her kids, but still failing to see them as anything other than proof that Adrien is hers. Adrien probably doesn’t get to go out as Chat Noir much, if he even still has his miraculous. Considering how little she likes him as Chat Noir, Ladybug may end up revoking it to “keep Adrien safe”. Everything he does, everywhere he goes, everyone he speaks to must be approved by Marinette. Adrien’s not free. He’ll never be free. This is the same prison as the one he grew up in. The only difference is the décor, his jailer, and that, once again, he has company. I wonder how long it takes him to realize he’s married his father?

Great, now I’ve made myself sad. I don’t suppose you or anyone who reads this knows any good fics where Adrien gets to live his best life far away from Marinette? I read Truth and Consequences, but the sequel’s tags seem to imply that they get back together and that retroactively ruined the first part for me.

Marinette strikes me as the type of parent who's too busy to spend time with her kids regularly, but then pours all her love into some grand spectacle, like a trip to the Disney World, where she will have planned their schedule down to every minute for maximum family togetherness time. Also expect her to have OpinionsTM on any hobby they want.

I would also expect standard immature parenting from Marinette. She is incapable of seeing others’ emotional needs as just as important as hers. She also overreacts to perceived rejection. Her children being upset at her would result in meltdowns where she cries about how she's trying her best and still she's the worst mom ever. He kids are very likely to grow up feeling guilty for their own negative emotions, and like they should be managing their mother’s emotions. This is where Adrien, as a former guilt-tripped child and current guilt-tripped husband would fail as a father, reassuring the kids that they need to be understanding towards Marinette's emotional needs.

I also expect Marinette to be a very inconsistent parent. She might flip between overly permissive and overly controlling as she changes tracks whenever she feels like she needs to make up for her current behavior. Like going “oh no I’m being too permissive” one week and “oh no I'm being too controlling” the other. She'd also treat her children unequally. I’m not sure if she’d play favorites exactly, but she would have different expectations for different kids based on what she wants them to be rather than who they are as people.

Marinette's catastrophizing and fear or failure in addition to her friend group’s common opinion on parental abandonment (aka, there's no such thing) could result in Marinette viewing distancing herself from her kids as a better alternative to the risk of making a mistake while parenting. Marinette is very much the type of person who'd go: “How could I possibly have ruined your life? I wasn't around enough to ruin anything,” and expect praise for it.

Adrien too had multiple photos of her hidden away in his bedroom and in his phone.

Has action figures of them and plays with them for scenarios.

Daydreams of telling her his secret identity as well as having dream of their future together.

Tried to give LB flowers multiple times and that it even is its own set of episodes where he faces rejection but cannot help but still love her.

Enjoys it when others bring out they think they are a couple and want to play along.

Has smelled her openly and knows her perfume well enough to distinguish her from an evil fake.

Uses the Snake Miraculous to woo Ladybug.

Or try to be literally someone else for her to love him.

Would sacrifice his life anytime to save her.

Endangers himself for her even as a civilian.

Or will go on murder mode if anything happens to the person he loves.

Basically, they match each other freak. They aren't completely identical, but they sure share similarities.

She is trying to control every exterior factors and imagine all these plans and scenarios in order for things to go perfectly and not get herself hurt (and you could guess that back in S3, way before Derision).

He is a lonely and overly romantic guy with too much love to give and whose unrequited feelings were being a burden at times on his partner.

Both wanted to be loved back. Both tried several times. Over and over again. And both eventually saw how their love was hurting them. That it wasn't healthy to keep going on like this.

Chat Noir: You were in love with Adrien Agreste? Marinette: Yes. But it just made me act in the worst ways. It was too much to bear. What about you? You’re no longer in love with Ladybug? Chat Noir: No. It was too much to bear. It just made me act in the worst ways.

They had their experiences. They made their mistakes. And they learn and grow. And they are continuing to learn.

Because love and relationship is constant work.

And it is not like Adrien himself wasn't aware of Marinette's weirdness either.

Adrien has been wrecked over the coals for 2 seasons now for BOTH of their flaws in the whole Love Square while Marinette gets nothing but regarded and validated.

Elation literally continues with Marichat kissing, but Adrien noticing how wrong this is and stopping what they're doing, which results in Marinette screaming and crying over not getting to have him and even being willing to turn into Chat Noir's enemy and fight, punish and reveal him to Monarch so he can't tell her no anymore.

A situation that only got avoided because Chat let go of the only boundaries he ever got to set with Marinette and Ladybug and kissed her anyway despite it making him extremely uncomfortable. Something that Marinette then still puts the blame on BOTH of them.

In Elation, Adrien shows that the behaviour you are using to justify Marinette's writing has already been punished and taken care of. He learned from this. Marinette screamed and cried and wanted to punish to get her way.

Then the next episode starts with Marinette already wanting to leave before Plagg even starts his plan and then the rest of season 5 explicitly blames ADRIEN for having caused all this because Marinette was entitled to have him but didn't get have him, so Adriens spents the rest of s5 too worshipping and validating Marinette problematic part of the love square and even having to take accountability for her "suffering" (protection)

Now by the time of season 6, he has entirely stopped with his problematic behaviour. Marinette is still doing pretty much all of it.

And let's not talk about how Marinette was so focused on proving to Zoe how wonderful and pure she herself is that Marinette didnt think this through one second for Adrien and Zoe because if she did, she would have realised that there was A LOT Adrien could have been upset about in that scenario. I once saw a post covering all that and just remembered it. I think it was connected to either you or one of the blogs engaging with you. Do you remember? I would love to read that post again

Why on FUCK's earth should I ever want Adrien to be forever stick in a relationship with a person who literally decided that preventing from having to have a difficult/ uncomfortable conversation is more important to prevent than straight up KILLING him?? I don't think I've ever seen a piece of media make it literally it's job to use the "power of true love" to so viciously send every bad message possible to children that domestic abuse is fine as long as it's the girl doing it.

Can you imagine the absolute outrage if Maribug was treated by Adrichat the way she does him in both identities? The way the show literally NEVER asks anything of this girl when it comes to accountability in the love square? It actually feel VILE by now how much pride the show takes in writing Marinette to see no true value in Adrichat's human dignity and personhood the second hurting and using him is of more benefit to her. She's still doing all the same fucked up shit as always, she has no growth and has to literally be coddled and worshipped into having any kind of chill, but only after she is always validated and absolved of any real blame because her only true "flaw" is 'not having been coddled enough any second of her life' so it's fine that all she ever does is being a toxic / abusive deceiver and hypocrite, crying and screaming and raging until she gets what she wants because 'she's the one deciding this!!!', and very kindly teaching you that her hurting you is actually a sign of how pure hearted and loving she is ♡ isn't that literally what Ladynoir is? And now Adrinette too? Her being fine with killing Adrien to avoid an uncomfortable conversation, or just watching him in Ivans episode be excluded and blame himself for how things went with his father and doing nothing to release him from that twisted victim blaming because Adrien still thanked her for something and that's all she cares about in the end.

Marinette's writing in the love square since season 4 is simply VILE imo. How is this in a kids show? Much less a kids show that nonstop prides itself with being "feminist" and "progressive". Everything awful a main character can do to their love interest Marinette does without holding back and she not only is held to zero moral standards by the show beyond "making sure Adrichat and the viewer understands that actually I'm a pure hearted saint and have done nothing wrong ever beyond being misunderstood in how pure and right I am", she actually gets nonstop validated and rewarded for doing so.

Seriously, WHEN was Maribug ever held truly accountable for her behaviour and actions in the love square? Everything gets always swept under the rug, she hardly ever improves even a tiny bit and still does it, and it's always ADRICHAT who has to do all the effort in any of their dynamics because Maribug can't go unvalidated for 3 minutes.

Why should I possibly want Adrien to be stuck with her for the rest of his life? Every episode since s4 is going out of its way to explain to me why Adrien should stay away from her as far as humanly possible. Chat Noir still doesn't get to exist as a real person, still has nothing and no one while having to be the eternal scapegoat and tool to use however she pleases, and Marinette is the entire entire time putting her feelings first when it comes to Adrien's abuse and was literally cool with KILLING him as long as it meant not needing to face an uncomfortable situation where people could be upset with her.

What an absolute NIGHTMARE of a main character to be stuck with as love interest. Just kill him, it would be mercy when it think about what the show will have her do to him in the next 9 seasons...

The worst part of it all is how casually such an earth-shattering thing is treated. I’ve previously said that Marinette choosing killing Adrien as her Plan A makes it obvious she actually has no moral code, but it's more than just the only sign of her hesitation being her closing her eyes for a moment, unable to once again face the consequences of her actions head on. It's the fact that a hero having to make this kind of choice is normally presented as a hard choice and a huge deal. A hero having to choose between their personal moral code and saving the day is the stuff made for season finales. In fact, ‘Volpina’, what is basically the S1 finale, has this same exact scenario, except faked by the villain.

And yet, when it's for real, Marinette willingly chooses to pull the trigger herself, in a run of the mill episode. I feel like that's a huge part of how casually careless the treatment of Adrien's very life comes across, that the choice wasn't hard, the situation wasn't dire, and it was fucking episode 5 instead of an event episode of some form. No, introducing Adrien's grandparents doesn't count as an event, ‘Befana’ and ‘Bakerix’ weren't events either. Marinette committing the premeditated murder (I can't emphasize enough how low the stakes were and how much time she had to deliberate this decision) of her boyfriend is treated as small stakes, as just another Tuesday, that's what really enforces the feeling that Adrien is not safe with Marinette.

Even before this blatant disregard of Adrien's life, Adrien’s entire existence is such an existential nightmare at this point, there are points where I’ve felt like he’d be better off dead. He’s a remote control robot, part of a species of magical beings that can only exist with their freedom and free will being conditional. Like, there have been moments where I’ve thought he should just get to Cataclysm himself, he’s repeatedly shown he wants to do it, it's the only way he'll truly escape his nightmarish existence, and I just want him to rob Marinette of control over him, since she has been shown to control whether he lives or dies now. I just want him away from her, no matter what extreme methods he needs to use to accomplish that. I hate that this show makes me that miserable over having Adrien as my favorite character.

Preferably, though, I think he should kill Marinette instead. He should find out the truth and then assassinate the heck out of her. He should get to go full Anthy on his prince-coded love interest. Utena perpetuated a system of violence towards her princess and she got stabbed over it, and Marinette has done so much more, she has already killed him once with her own hands.

Utena got stabbed for less. Adrien should get to stab Marinette. As a treat.

I don't get around to make a better structured post, but the one thing that actually intrigues me in it's 'bothersomeness' about Marinette's drama in "Daddycop" (and one for which I'm very curious if it'll be the same in the French original cause it might just be a case of English Dub dialogue changes) is the way the episode just leaves it pretty much unresolved that Marinette, while sobbing about how her happiness is forever ruined, was out here blaming all of that on Adrien not changing his mind on having the date TOMORROW (so its not like she was denied anything, the point literally was that she gets both her date and her girls night fully instead of half-assing both at the same time. So Adrien rescheduled the date to the next day. This happened for HER benefit) while acting like SHE had nothing to do with the date not having happened.

"You all agreed to it [Adrien coming, though they didn't actually know cause she tiptoed around saying anything useful cause she didn't wanted to be told "no"], but it looks like it didn't change his mind, and now everything is ruined [puts her head on the table]"

Like, girl, that's a crazy victim-complex on display right here. Omfg.

In a situation where Marinette thinks having the 100th kiss this evening is the only way that'll cosmically seal their happiness, and not having it will cosmically doom everything and she'll apparently never know happiness again,

Girl sure showed NO self-awareness that the reason why Adrien explicitly said "no" several times was because SHE forgot the plans she already made with her friends, as well as not realizing that she nuked any normal chance for him to change his mind by keeping on insisting on him attending without listening to what he's saying (which she continued doing):

But for Marinette, that didn't matter. In her eyes, there was nothing SHE could have possibly done that could result in her being anything but innocent in their relationship ending up being cosmically doomed. Only ADRIEN can be wrong in the case of this specific evening deciding their fate as couple. Not her. Not even for a single SECOND, her.

And on a VERY important note:

She also doesn't think that withholding the knowledge of this cosmic event from Adrien is unfair or a factor in itself that could POSSIBLY be what's upsetting fate. Only SHE deserves information and is unquestionably MEANT to have it, while ADRIEN has to unrealistically bend over backwards and submit to her will to prove that he will bring her eternal happiness and without getting to know the context either.

Funny how that is perfectly in line with the constant conflict now going on even after the season 5 finale. ADRIEN (or everyone else) has to prove that Marinette will be given eternal happiness, care, consideration, and will be catered to almost no matter what because that's still pretty much all her anxiety is canonically about, like in s4 and 5.

And that's the thing that gets me in this. That Marinette, until the akuma battle, fully blamed everyone else BUT herself for everything, with the sobbing on the table scene summarizing it:

"You all agreed to it [Adrien coming, though they didn't actually know cause she tiptoed around saying anything useful cause she didn't wanted to be told "no"], but it looks like it didn't change his mind, and now everything is ruined [puts her head on the table]"

If Marinette's anxiety and trauma actually were manifesting the way her fans/ stans make it out to be, then Marinette's instinctive reaction here would have been crying about and damning her own forgetfulness and lack of focus for ruining her chance of happiness.

But that's not what's happening in Daddycop. Marinette only ever blames ADRIEN and SHE is only the victim. In her eyes, this cosmic event was at its core about HER and no one else.

She doesn't desperately try to let Adrien know that there is an important cosmic event going on - that she's aware of and he isn't -and that it could doom their future if they don't save their love TOGETHER.

And she doesn't try any plan like calling him during girls night because she "forgot" to buy something important, but knows HE has it at home, too, so could he please come over at a certain time and bring it along? Where she then could kiss him at the right time.

Still questionable in method, but I'd get the vision due to her acknowledging that SHE is the reason the date didn't happen in the first place. There would be something here to hold onto.

But Marinette in the actual episode does NON of that.

Cuz said 14 year old has been losing her absolute mind over one singular boy and keeps making bigger issues for herself (and everyone else) coz of this little crush and it's CLEARLY only face value atp cuz she doesn't act any different than his[Adrien] fans.

Cuz said girl can't treat her partner like an equal for more than a season before deciding lying to everyone is better than dealing with the possible downfall of an emotional reaction. (Also does so with the boy she claims to love ) not to mention she thinks stalking and badgering people cuz they happen to be in the same space as Adrien is normal (despite her already DATING HIM AT THIS POINT.)

She goes on a date with him and consistently ditches him cuz she can't get her shit together for one(1) day. Adrien just lost his father and instead of..idk comforting him or trying to talk about THAT it's all abt how nervous she is and how he has to trail behind her. Give me a damn break.

And also..Adrien and Alya got shit on for WEEEEKS after Chameleon came out for doing regular shit that's in character and yall started shipping Marinette with every character under the sun so yall could shit on them (not to mention..replacing the ONE(1) black girl with Chloe and making Alya out to be this aggressive ass bully. Yall can go to hell)

..so yeah. Sorry this 14 year old doesn't get a pass after 6 seasons of her nonsense while yall dog ob Alya and Adrien frequently.

(Even Chloe. She's also 14 since yall wanna use that logic 💀)

She is nice, but she is insensitive as fuck, stresses so much over herself over nothing much of the time that she forgets others entirely exist and matters just as much as her, and after spending so much time being annoyed at the local liar and local bully about how they get away with their crap with their personalities and connections and power she lies to the entire world abusing the people's trust in her and her authority as the city's hero to not be questionned about her lies about the magical local terrorist just to protect his son's feelings, whom she also lies too by making herself a glorified victim so that he can't stay mad at her instead of being honest about everything, then she complains about her secrets that SHE chose to keep instead of confessing to.

This is the girl who gave crap on Lila for stealing from Adrien and lying to him, despite the fact that earlier in the season, she stole from Adrien, Alya, and a photographer, and then season 5 has her lie to everyone just to not have one difficult conversation with Adrien and Chat Noir about how she completely screwed up her battle against Gabriel.

She abused her powers to go break into Adrien's room and sniffed his goddamn pillow for fuck sake. She stalked him into another country by lying to her parents about how she wanted to connect to her chinese roots, when it was just that she was miffed that she didn't know that Adrien was leaving to Shangai, and then had to follow him, and her parents paid for her trip when it was supposed to be a family vacation that they had been saving since she was born, and she's not even a tiny little bit sorry about it, so I didn't feel sympathy when she got robbed by Fei once she got there, because how did she get robbed? By leaving her mom's uncle on his birthday to go stalk Adrien, a boy she sees everyday in class under some shitty ass excuse.

She never learns her lessons, she keeps hurting her friends all the time with her having the empathy of a rock, and even rocks have more empathy then her.

She is supposed to have hobbies in baking and fashion, but 95% of the time we instead see her trying to woo Adrien, and now it's spending time with Adrien, as for Adrien himself, if he dares not spend time with Marinette but with someone else instead without her being around, well too bad she's gonna make sure to tag along anyway.

This is freaking annoying. She is freaking annoying. I'm so done with her.
