after five years of putting my time, love, and energy into my job, I was just laid off. all of us were, utterly blindsided, 54 people across the country, and all to adopt an AI model, where students no longer have face time with a real person, but a chat bot. what do I tell the student who is facing homelessness. what do I tell my student who has lost her aid due to her immigration status. 90 kids I was responsible for. 90 kids that I loved and advocated and fought for. what can I possibly do for them now.
