canon is what happens in the text. e.g. merlin tries to poison morgana
a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.
an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.
fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.
these are all different words with different meanings.
and a cannon is a large mounted gun, usually on wheels, that uses explosives to fire projectiles.

Low key yeah the path of least resistance would probably be to market my comic to the Gorillaz fandom since the art style is so close to Jamie’s and the themes I’m exploring overlap with the whole vibe Damon and Jamie have curated throughout the years.
I used to be super active in the fandom though and remember there was a period of time where even we were hit with internet purity culture. My whole ass fictional character was literally slut shamed for her SW background which I found incredibly strange tbh. So yeah this past experience scares me a little about how Power Bottom will be received.
The story has only gotten darker and even more morally grey since I stopped participating in fandom. Power Bottom was actually meant to be my graduation project for art school but it all sort of went to shit in the end.
I’ve picked the project back up in recent months though and I’ve been writing more than I ever have so I’m hoping to have something tangible to share online and maybe…just maybe, I can finally get my god damn degree.

Ok but real talk. So the comic I’ve been working on is essentially me taking an old Gorillaz OC, taking her out of the whole canon lore and giving her her own story with a whole cast of supporting characters who also have their own independent storylines happening parallel to hers. Gorillaz is still like a real band that exists in this story’s universe though. Like the actual cartoon band are real people so technically my story takes place in the same fictional world in a similar way that Gorillaz and Powerpuff Girls co-exist.
What does this make my story? Is it still fan fiction? Is it an unofficial cross-over? Is it something entirely new?
Because for obvious legal reasons I’m gonna avoid anything that directly ties to Gorillaz… like my characters have nothing to do with the band AT ALL anymore but the way I draw them absolutely will make it look like they’re fan characters (Jamie’s influence has been super obvious in my art for so long I can’t turn it off).
So yeah just sharing my unfiltered thoughts. Anyway this is the OC in question. Some of you might remember Yume, some of you might be coming across her for the very first time. She’s not the character she once was but I’m really proud of me for what her story has transformed in to.
Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.
Roy Mustang really spends the whole series fancying himself being in some sort of Usurper Rivalship with Bradley only for Bradley's interactions with Mustang to be, "Okay Mustang sit in that office chair while I evil-monologue at you. Do it again. Okay now go away I have to go fight tanks with my swords and then get slaughtered by a holy man of the people I genocided, which will leave my dictator chair wide open."
And then Mustang doesn't even get the dictator chair.

I had made an Instagram with the explicit purpose of documenting local night life and proceeded to procrastinate on organizing my digital archive so I could upload pics and videos on there. Part of me wants to make a side blog on here to do exactly that because I prefer Tumblr’s framework but the other part of me wants to dismiss the idea because it still requires me to organize my files so I can upload them.
I have so much footage of nights out in San Juan, local bands performing and raves I’ve been to I feel like it’s going to waste. I have a lot of fun pictures too.

There is no way this is an original thought but I still need to yap about my head cannon that Yukio stress smokes on and off and the habit gets worse as he gets older, especially because I also see him juggling part time work with The Order while he puts himself through medical school.
And I bet you he absolutely hates being told he resembles Shiro when he stress smokes because he does not want to confront the complicated feelings this observation triggers.
I still haven’t read chapter 167 💀 part of me wants to hold off until next month to at least have 2 chapters to read. I don’t need sleep, I NEED ANSWERS.

Imma be honest, I’ve been procrastinating on reading chapter 167 because I don’t want to put myself through the excruciating wait I’ll have to endure after the inevitable cliffhanger I’ll be forced to endure.
Anyway I also noticed Blue Exorcist has a weirdly low chapter count for how long it’s been running. Dandadan and One Punch Man are already past 200 chapters.
It was brought to my attention Dandadan is weekly. That’s on me for not knowing because I haven’t started reading it but I WAS reading OPM as it was coming out up until where Blizzard was becoming more of a reoccurring character and if I remember correctly OPM was being published monthly.
This observation came from the fact I’ve been reading blue exorcist since like…2014-ish??(maybe longer tbh) so I’ve lived through the multiple hiatuses.
I don’t even fault Kato for taking long ass breaks between publications. I think that’s really iconic and relatable of her as someone who’s also dipping her toes in comics.
But it’s still quite interesting to me that AoEx has such a low chapter count when compared to other Jump titles… especially since I think the chapters have gotten shorter with the years? I haven’t read the early chapters in forever so I’m going off my spotty memory. I might just get another anon ask or reblog correcting me lol.
