to preface: yes i’m about to talk about a game that has no fandom and yes this post is kinda long i wanna infodump about this rando game for the ds
i knew they changed some of the characters in imagine makeup artist/cosmetic paradise: meiku no kiseki for some reason or another (and for some reason was released under the imagine series, i’m unsure if this goes for like all imagine games)
y’all look at this. this is how they changed sakuya/alex. i was robbed i’m so mad rip
i don’t mind the sakura/alexis change much tho, they’re both very cute
the love interests didn’t change much. itsuki/chris got a new skin color, shuu/sean got a slight hair cut, daichi/aaron is more or less the same.
but idk who rufa/lufa (?) (blonde boy) is i don’t think he’s in the american release? bc chris, sean, and aaron are the only love interests in the american release
karen/victoria and kaoru/diane remained untouched
your co-workers (bc you can take part-time jobs to buy clothes and supplies) also had changes but i could only find tsubasa/kelly and tbh i prefer kelly’s look
i couldn’t find lily or maya’s japanese counterparts, but i do know the flower workshop where maya works was changed from a shinto shrine (again no pictures for that sorry)
but here’s bochi/niko who was also not changed, they probably couldn’t change him if they tried
sorry for ranting about this random ds game that maybe max 5 people (including me) know about and have played! i just find it’s whole region changes interesting and if i ever learn japanese i might just buy myself a japanese ds and the japanese version of this game lmao
that's my childhood (i had the US release)! i still play the rom on a ds emulator to reach the parts i never did as a kid. but wth i never thought this had otome elements as a kid until i played this again! i do remember crushing hard on chris and being annoyed at sean and aaron for being so nonchalant 😂 now im on dates with sean but i was hoping for chris or aaron! might as well try in other save slots. i literally gasped on the CG that appeared during a date with sean. the early 2000s art style is so nostalgic and lovely.
i apologize for the yapping. but thank u for this post, op! 🥺 this game means a lot to me and i always loved the music when you're doing the makeup. btw this also answers my long time question of why the art style of diane and victoria are so different from chris, aaron, and the NPCs.
