𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 has published a 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 article! The ton has gone crazy! Here ye, here ye! The queen has announced the 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲!
"Have you read the newspaper this time?" a young lady chirped towards another lady, a gray parchment in hand. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀' 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲, no. It's a newspaper. Lady Velours' has written on a 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿.
"I can not believe they have lasted so long!" another gentleman commented, holding the paper up with a grin. "Why, I did not expect the 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘂𝗿 to be so happy and contented."
"To an untitled gentleman at that," snorted a nobleman as he took a sip of his morning tea. "The younger Trappola son has settled first before the elder. I'm quite surprised it took them this long."
In the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱, the youngest son stared at the newspaper with bored eyes as he leaned back against the couch. "Is it really that big of a deal?" he groaned, lowering the piece of paper to stare at the lady across from him. Ace propped his elbow up on the armrest of the couch and leaned his cheek on his fist.
While he is not surprised that the ton has caught word of their 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, he wonders what goes on in the busy-bodied heads of noblemen and servants alike.
"I just proposed. So what?"
"Maybe, it's because no one could believe I said yes?"
She turned around, fingers combing through her hair. Blaire smiled softly as she approached her, now, fiancé and settled beside him. She plucked the newspaper out of his hands, smile widening into a grin.
"I suppose this is what I get for 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘃𝗲," she whispered, glancing at Ace. Where red met purple, the eyes she could never forget seeing for the first time across the ballroom. How entranced she was and how certain she is that 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 has connected.
He stayed quiet for a moment before exhaling a chuckle. "Ah." His shoulders shook. "Is that why they call me the 𝗔𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀?"
