I'm realizing just now that the reason I'm so nostalgic for Something New is because it ended just over 5 years ago! April 29, 2020 ! Funny how anniversaries work like that
Now, Something New was largely the result of me coping with recovering from a breakdown and orphaning it all was the result of another one. Unfortunately, I'm very Thorough in my breakdowns and wiped out a ton of records / anything that could remind me of that time. And the few I do have I didn't transfer over to my newest computer aghghghg. But! Breakdown-me missed a spot: I didn't erase my sent emails!
On January 10, 2020, a kind commenter offered to talk with me over email (I'll delete this link after you confirm you've seen it bc I don't want to send a lot of randos to this person's actual email oop)

On this same email account I have some emails from when I participated in the TDBK Zine's Secret Santa
And the last piece of evidence I have right now is that I have on my wall two prints from Yan (i forget what their twitter handle was exactly it was like MOITIE??). They only sent these out to twitter mutuals i'm pretty sure and we would chat back and forth about tdbk occasionally
The blue sky one was the inspiration for my Look at the Sky fic so that's why I requested that one from Yan when they asked me to pick!
(I'm going to try to resurrect my old laptop to see if I can find all my word docs with all the fics I wrote for that pseud. But that will probably take a while but i def understand that it would provide the most proof!!)
now i'm really really excited to talk about this fic for the 5 year anniversary of its ending!! i can happily talk forever and ever about it. just let me know what you want to know!!
